Season 1 got us Project Centipede as big bad in the first episodes just to switch to the Clairevoyant mystery later on until it became clear it was all about SHIELDvs Hydra.

Season 2 had Absorbing Man as early villain just to switch to the SHIELD vs Hydra showdown for the midseason finale and built up to the NuSHIELD vs RealSHIELD vs Inhumans vs Mr. Hyde foursome for the finale.

Season 3 had Lash in the early villain role similar to Absorbing Man. I guess the rest of the first half of this season will be SHIELD vs Gideon or SHIELD vs Gideon vs ATCU. Any ideas who or what will be the big bad at the end of the season? I guess something was already foreshadowed. Perhaps whatever was on Simmons' planet?

Season 3 had Lash in the early villain role similar to Absorbing Man. I guess the rest of the first half of this season will be SHIELD vs Gideon or SHIELD vs Gideon vs ATCU. Any ideas who or what will be the big bad at the end of the season? I guess something was already foreshadowed. Perhaps whatever was on Simmons' planet?

I think we'll see Daisy finally get her secret warriors, or at least a working initial roster, and I'm hoping they end up facing a returning powerhouse: Graviton.
Actually, more likely Graviton's return will either be shown or just hinted at in the season finale stinger.

Second half will probably have some connection to Civil War. Even in last nights episode they teased it (world leaders meeting to figure out how to deal with superhumans). I could see Coulson and a few other leads siding with the government/ACTU/registration side while Daisy has to form a "Secret Warriors" of superhumans against registration. The villain could be Hydra, an organization that is likely manipulating the whole registration thing. Gideon Malick is Hydra, and he's clearly in a position of power with this one (as seen in the stinger last night). On the film side, Zemo has something to do with the Civil War.

I don't like the ward storyline. I much rather explore space and the alien stuff.

We'll definitely get some more of that, but I could see the bigger cosmic stuff waiting until Season 4. They've ALWAYS found some way to tie into the movies, and GotG2 comes out around the end of season 4 (assuming a fourth season happens, of course).

really hoping Rosalind aware that Gideon is HYDRA.... but it seems like it'd be hard not to at this point... seems a bit cliche and too predictable to have Rosalind being full on HYDRA and completely aware of what the ATCU is up to.. would really tick me off because you can't get much more cliche than that

I hope she's not aware and is just being used by him.
Keep Rosalind as a gray character who's not bad, but doesn't necessarily do good things, and yet you get to see she has a point for what she's doing (the way they've shown her so far). Otherwise it's just more of the same. We don't need a repeat of the Ward or Sitwell scenario. Make this different.

But it seems like the movies and tv shows are trying to separate a bit, so maybe the show won't reflect the movies quite as much.

eh there's no actual proof of any of those rumors... Feige even recently said the movies will have to acknowledge the TV shows eventually

Zemo seems to be both affiliated with Hydra AND involved with the Registration Act somehow. With Gideon we have a character that seems pretty similar to that, actually. Last night flat out said world leaders are having secret meetings about how to deal with superhumans, Gideon included. That was a pretty blatant Civil War tease, especially since we've heard that the MCU Registration Act is a global thing.

Two organizational leaders who kind of like/respect each other, but who also have different philosophies and disagree on stuff, is SO much more interesting to me. Heck, I imagine that most of their pillow talk would consist of said philosophical disagreements.

It's telling that Joey didn't become one of the many killed by Lash (though that imagine spot last night was a hell of a tease), which probably confirms that he'll be a Secret Warrior.

Looks that way. I suppose they could be setting him up for Damage Control, though. Especially with that line about using his powers to build things and the part where they reminded the audience he's a construction worker by trade.
