Thanks for that.
I had a hard time focusing since I made the mistake of marathoning this disappointment.

I've actually never watched Arrow save for the pilot with it's excruciatingly bad acting.
I do see a lot of Arrow fans give AoS fans a hard time though, I'm guessing you thought I was one of them.

I'm just critical, I wish they waited until they had a better idea of what they wanted to do before launching this show and not learning as they go along.

We're about a week away from them crapping on my childhood with their interpretation of Deathlok.

Yeesh, crapping on Deathlok? why do you think that? The guy is disfigured and will have cybernetic implants. Did you really want him to be a reanimated corpse as well?

No, I'm over that.
But he should be more than a cybernetic peg leg and seethrough walls eyepatch.

He might be. Give it some time. They might surprise you.

I'm getting nerd ulcers having to wait until 8 more days!
I just figure the guy who screened the scene would have mentioned more if the character had impressed him, instead he just says "The camera pans down and we see Mike's new, metallic leg", and they don't even make mention of a faceplate, just him receiving messages from his digital eye, which is nothing more than what we saw when he got the message during his last appearance.

Well we might not see him next episode.

It's all about striking a balance.
Right now they seem content on mentioning THE BATTLE OF NEW YORK any chance they get and they are throwing little easter eggs, but I mostly feel like I'm watching an unfunny sitcom instead of an extension of my beloved MCU.

And although we've been all clamoring for the integration of Marvel characters onto the show we'll just have to see how they go about it next episode, I honestly believe that Deathlok's look will be reduced to that of a space pirate with his metal leg and eyepatch.

If Nick Fury got a metal leg, he could be a pirate too. Then he and Deathlok can both say "Arrrhhh"

why would anyone marathon Arrow?

Arrow's great. I marathoned it and I have no regrets at all. As of now, Arrow is easily the superior Superhero television show to AOS. To be fair though, Arrow's on it's second season. AOS is still finding it's footing. It took Arrow at least about 6 episodes for me to be fully invested in it, and it had it's fair share of problems. But once it found it's stride it was great.

So far, what Arrow has done better than AOS is really create it's own superhero world. Their world-building has been much better. AOS right now still feels like it's living off the dregs of the filmverse, instead of naturally expanding on the film universe. However, that's to be expected. Arrow didn't have to deal with connecting to a film universe and AOS did, and AOS is getting better at this aspect as the show goes on.

However, I definitely wouldn't mind if AOS took some pointers from Arrow. Especially where action sequences are concerned. For it's budget, Arrow has GREAT action sequences.

Deathlok had probably one of the ugliest character designs of that period of Marvel comics (and that says something), the more liberties they take with that, the better. Of course, that's just my opinion.

Taking liberties and being completely nondescript are two completely different things.

This is what he looks like without a decomposed face.
There really is nothing wrong with this design although I imagine that most would like the colors to be muted, which is fine, but from the sound of the quote I posted we will get Peterson with a metal leg and a cybernetic implant that is concealed within him just like it is for all the other characters we've seen with it so far.

that costume above is a redesign. I was talking about that ugly thing

I posted the above since it was the only one I could find that had him with an unscarred face. Plus it's Michael Collins which seems to be the main influence for AoS's version.

I'm in no way expecting something completely comic accurate but I feel if they are going to bother they should make their version recognizable as a variation of what can be found in the comics, as they have with all their characters.

At least have the face plate, but from the sound of it it's just the implant with the killswitch which is imperceptible anyways.

Who's to say he doesn't start one way and develop a look as he goes? They constantly re-make IM's suits and Cap's suits -- so why wouldn't his?

My impression is that he's turning into Deathlok one piece at a time. First he volunteered for centipede. Then, he got the eye and the leg. Even though he'll be introduced as Deathlok, it doesn't mean that he will encounter Agent Coulson and his band of merry men and women. He'll probably go toe-to-toe with them later in the season, and all we'll get is a few minutes here and there that show how his transformation is progressing.

For the record, and just to weigh in on the conversation, I recently got a Netflix subscription (only because of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist and Luke Cage shows) and decided to watch Arrow. It is good...not great, but really good. It is filled with hot chicks and hunky guys and has some good MMA scenes. There are tons of Easter Eggs on the show, so you feel enticed to keep watching.

That being stated, I haven't seen one episode from the current season. I'll probably watch it after it comes out on Netflix.

As for comparing it to AoS: AoS started slow, just like Arrow. The actors on AoS are way better than Arrow, but the fight scenes on Arrow are vastly superior. I do like the overarching plot of AoS and how all these small things that didn't seem to matter do. Overall, I like both shows, but the fact that AoS ties in to a much larger CMU makes me feel like I'll miss out on something if I miss a show. Whereas on Arrow I feel like it doesn't matter if I miss an episode...or wait a year to watch it.

Anyone fancy a crossover with another series that does have a working time machine?:cwink:

This has already been done, or did you not see the sets in the GotG stinger on Thor?
