There's more to it than that scene. At the end of TWS [BLACKOUT]SHIELD is basically crippled, if not outright destroyed internally. There's a Senate hearing on the fallout from its collapse.[/BLACKOUT]

[BLACKOUT]Which, unless they decide to randomly cancel the entire organization, just means that it gets put back together, probably after a hell of a lot of spring cleaning. A crippled SHIELD is not an *absent* SHIELD, basically.[/BLACKOUT]

Fury, Hill, and basically anyone in authority are gone. I don't doubt that they'll try to re-form SHIELD again in the future, but for right now, it's basically a non-entity. For this reason, I think the formation of the Avengers in AoU will come about because of villains running wild in their absence.

You know if
SHIELD is really gone which I hope they are don't like them. Maybe the Son of Coul and his team could start a Marvel Agent of Rebels! kind of thing.

I say Coulson's team become the MCU version of the Secret Warriors going forward.

Gone as in dead or gone as in just no longer working for the government?

Gone as in no longer a soldier/spy. Fury is doing his own thing in Europe and Hill applies for a job at Stark Industries.

Oh that's cool.
Tony and Hill have "history" in the comics (recent history in fact), so having them interact in a future movie could be fun. And Fury going to Europe=The Contessa (I hope).

Now I can't open any spoiler tag because I don't know if it is about Winter Soldier or the show.

From the Winter Soldier, but the outcome will have great affect on the show, which will probably make Jim Steranko even more enraged at the show than he already is.

Reading up on the Secret Warriors, a name like that required agents with Super powers, which none of the team have at this moment.

Man! I come in here to catch up but basically everything's in spoiler tags and I don't want to ruin TWS... Sigh... I guess I'll come back in a week and a half.

In my opinion the producers of AoS missed a opportunity here.

Hear me out. In the spoiler tags indicate what happens at the end of TWS correct?
What they should have done was make the season finale air the night before TWS came out (that would mean the movie came out on Wednesday instead), so it would have left a huge cliff hanger to be picked up next season.
I say this cause TBH when the episode after TWS airs and Coulson and his team are still acting by the book or have to check in or really have anything to do with Shield will be a disappointing in my opinion. If there are repercussions from the movie than that's different.

Not really. Neither "Secret" nor "Warriors" intrinsically indicate that they MUST have superpowers. That group was essentially Nick Fury's personal strike team when he goes rogue. There's nothing to say that Coulson and co couldn't due something similar.

You never want to end your first season on a cliffhanger, it tempts the Cancellation Gods to do something evil to you .
Besides ,if you tie your first finale to the movies and it really works then your stuck doing it every year .

True really didn't think of that.
Then instead of that. They could have made the finale the week after.

Thinking more about it. The last 6 remaining episodes (starting the 8th) should be nothing but the team dealing with the repercussions from TWS.

i think its is tied up significantly with the movie:
sitwell who makes an appearance in ep 16, is in the movie right after it, and i dont think he is in it afterwards.. also it makes sense now why coulson was given a separate team so as to keep these characters away when things go down at shield
and, there are other bases of shield like the Hub around the world, they havent all down in flames, but they may be unresponsive or have trust issues

The "Secret Warriors" name just implies of their secrecy, nothing about powers.

The remaining episodes will likely be dealing with events shortly before and after TWS so I think we don't have anything to worry about.

The thing about the remaining episodes is that the fallout of TWS will have major repercussions for the show in a major way.

Hand might be a part of the conspiracy or she might not be and be forced to leave. Then there's Garrett and Triplett. Where do they fit? Will they be the ones hunting Coulson and his team? Or helping them? Same for Patton Oswalt's character. If he's not killed off by Deathlok, what about Blake?

Victoria Hand?
