"I start [filming] on August 28th, I think, through the fall," Alba said of the sequel to last year's blockbuster about a radiation-fueled super-family. "It's going to be a very, very exciting, hot, new, fresh 'Fantastic Four.' We're going to amp up the action, amp up the love interest, amp it all up."

"I'm the most powerful of the four," Alba boasted, saying that the full-blown effects of the first film's hero-making mishap will finally be felt as she takes on the powers of her comrades. "I can kind of do everyone else's powers."

"There is a little tension between the Silver Surfer and Reed," Alba said of the script, which will finally bring the legendary Marvel character to the big screen. The cosmos-roaming Silver Surfer has gained an army of loyal fans with his conflicted, complicated story line. Of the Surfer, Alba said: "He's a little good and a little bad. So it's just a matter of, 'What does Sue Storm bring — the good or the bad — out of that boy?'"

 :(

Sounds pretty cool to me. Probably to everyone else this is the Apocalypse.

Sounds like it's going to be a great, mainstream crowd-pleasing, summer popcorn flick.

Unfortunately for fans of the source material, it also sounds like as big of a train wreck as the first one.

Oh, well.

Oh dear. :o

Sue being able to mimic the powers of the others?
Yeah, that sounds really cool.
Let's hope Alba isn't making herself clear on this.

"Boy?" What th-?? Ugh...I can't even comment.

And no, the Silver Surfer's origin would never have held up an entire movie, not without being introduced in an FF film first. No matter how much you love the character and his history, it would be like making a Venom movie without Spider-man. The public wouldn't bite in sufficient numbers. Talk about risky. Even Fox knows better than to try that.

The Silver Surfer first appears as the harbinger of mankind's doom.
Period.

How in the hell does she do everyone elses powers. This just sounds scary.....guess we will have to waight and see...

And SS is now a love interest...so ummm does he wear a suit because in his silver form he doesn't look too equipped....and glad to see Sue is the epitome of fidelity

I think Alba's hot....but that is it. I hope they are not letting her have to much input as to what the storyline is about, this is starting to sound alot like Halle Berry wanting more screen time as Storm. Most powerful of the group, I can do everybody's powers....what the hell!!!!! I thought the first film was OK, but there was room for improvement, and having a love triangle with the Silver Surfer just doesn't sound right at all. They will get someone like Paul Walker to play Silver Surfer to appeal to the OC crowd. God help us.............:down :down

GVCool2,
I have to agree 100%.....sounds like alot to worry about.

ugh ..so much for being more tighter lipped this time around. it is still in the pre-production stage so some of this may just be hear say on jessica's part. i'm still not thrilled about the love triangle arc again talk about unnecessary & unoriginal. especially after the fact reed and sue got engaged at the end of the first movie. the rollar coaster of production is just beginning...

i wouldn't let that extract worry you, because sue storm is not the most powerful in the team.

These days the official line at Marvel (since John Byrne was on the book back in the 80's) is that Sue is in fact the most powerful member of the group.
When you consider the many ways (some pretty unpleasant) that she can bring her powers to bear on someone, it makes a lot of sense.
Remember: She took down the Hulk.
Neither the Thing nor the Torch have ever been able to do that, and Sue did it in a matter of seconds with a suffocating force bubble.

Here is the full article from MTV.COM....She makes a reference, albeit slightly to Doom...

CULVER CITY, California — Comic book character-turned-cinematic superhero Sue Storm is best known for her powers of invisibility, which allow her to sneak around and keep the secrets of the Fantastic Four from falling into the wrong hands. While Jessica Alba can understand such tendencies, she prides herself on being a bit more upfront.

In town for her high-profile gig as host of the 2006 MTV Movie Awards (see "MTV Movie Awards: Will Ferrell Freaks Out; Jessica Simpson Dusts Off Daisy Dukes"), the actress is revealing some big secrets for "Fantastic Four 2," the superhero sequel she'll soon begin filming. And if there's one thing that perks up the ears of the men who've supposedly made her the most Googled woman in history, it's the pairing of the words "revealing" and "Alba."

As far as that first count is concerned, look for returning heroes Johnny Storm (Chris Evans), Ben Grimm (Michael Chiklis) and Reed Richards (Ioan Gruffudd) to embark on some seriously enhanced action scenes, but it will be Sue whose powers will blow everyone else away.

"I'm the most powerful of the four," Alba boasted, saying that the full-blown effects of the first film's hero-making mishap will finally be felt as she takes on the powers of her comrades. "I can kind of do everyone else's powers."

Continuing with all that amping up, "FF2" will once again delve into the complicated relationship between Sue and Reed. In the last film, the sheepish Mr. Fantastic was trapped in a love triangle that had him battling with Dr. Doom. This time around, Alba promises another love triangle, and a new co-star who might be fueling it.

So it's just a matter of, 'What does Sue Storm bring — the good or the bad — out of that boy?' "

Alba's clues could equal a romantic subplot between Sue and a Silver-skinned lothario. While comic book fans are connecting such dots, it also helps to note that there could never be a Silver Surfer without a Galactus.

"I cannot bring up Galactus," Alba said, taking a deep breath and giggling. "I can't believe I just said his name.

"Maybe he'll do an appearance," she added.

For those who aren't tracking world-devouring mega-monsters, Galactus is the immeasurably powerful, millions-of-miles-tall being who must wander the universe looking for planets to snack on for sustenance. Galactus and the Surfer are as inextricably linked as George Steinbrenner and Joe Torre — appropriate, since an accurate cinematic manifestation of Galactus could cost enough money to bankrupt even the Yankees owner.

"We do have some villain action — maybe a new villain, maybe an old villain, maybe one of us turns into a villain," Alba added. Specifically asked if Victor Von Doom (Julian McMahon) would be in the sequel, the actress smiled. "Maybe, maybe," she offered.

Wrapping things up, Alba bristled at speculation that the recently announced departure of Marvel Studios CEO Avi Arad would have any effect on his involvement with the movie. "He owns it, he owns Marvel, he's totally producing," she said. "He owns everybody. He owns all of us — Spider-Man, X-Men, the Fantastic Four."

" 'Fantastic Four' is so much fun, and we really have such a great, strong family that we created," Alba added. "I'm totally excited, and with 'X-Men' doing so well, it just lets everyone know [that more comic book movies are wanted]. It's our whole same [Marvel] team. We are all so happy for them, and we're ready to go in this year and bang out another one."

And with that, the world's most visible Invisible Woman vanished once again.

That's actually a true statement. I think classic John Byrne run more then proves it. She's probably just parroting what others have told her.

"I can kind of do everyone else's powers."

Er......I have no clue what this could mean and I hope to God they don't turn Sue in to some sort of Super Skrull. Maybe she meant...

"I can kind of OUT do everyone else's powers."

Also, "maybe one of us turns into a villain"

THIS outfit would guarantee more ticket sales...

Hi

Well I can't really comment on JA's err coments as I'm not that knowledgeable about the F4 as say Spider-Man. Even so some of your comments are worrying me and Silver Surfer being a love interest? He looks like a silver mannequin (sp?) so thats odd.

With regard to the Hulk comment, so did a snake at one time...so that is not saying much given he has also taken down the F4....

And what were Malice's powers?

By the way, how underpowerred are they going to make SS?

Sounds like an Ultimate FF mess. Invisable Women doing all the FF powers ? WTF ? Sounds like the Ultimate Sue. And I guess we know what the love triangle is now. Reed, Sue, and the SS. Hopefully Jessicas talking out her hat. I did hear on Leno her comment about being the most powerful of the 4. And again I repeat WTF ? :( This is disapointing news. But we'll see.

When I heard about the possible love triangle, I thought we could see Namor...

Well, let's just wait and see... (shouldn't the triangle be Thing - Alicia - Surfer?)

First off, Sue isn't the most powerful of the team. There is no most powerful member. They all have great power in different ways. For example- the Torch has the most destructive ability. The Thing has the greatest amount of stamina and endurance not to mention brute force. And Reed's abilities allow him to be the most resilient. And then of course, his intelligence makes him the most formidable of the team.

As for this love triangle thing, it's silly. Is Sue so fickle to be swayed this often and easily? Or are they that desperate to find something for Jessica to do?

Ha Ha Ha, That is what I love about you guys you have a great personality. You guys crack me up.

This is driving me nuts about these love triangles is that shouldn't Reed and Sue be married by the start of part 2...if that is the case, then just leave it at that...we don't need to create a love triangle that didn't happen (just like Doom's in the first one).

Sue Storm is the most powerful. When she was in her Malice persona during John Byrne's run with the FF4 she took down every single one of the FF4 with ease before they even realized what they were dealing with. She had the same powers as before but when she uses them ruthlessly and with innovation they seem almost entirely different yet still made sense.

And the Lady Liberators beat the Avengers. Thundra beat the Thing. Black Widow, Black Cat for that matter kicked Spidey's ass. So what?
They'll never show a male superhero give a female a beat down. It's not PC.

Second, any member of the FF could take out the others if they fought ruthlessly while the others were in "hero" mode and didn't want to harm them.

I would at least hope that if they go this route, they do something similar to the comics in which Alicia had a certain connection (though not romantic) that made Ben Jealous.

The thing is . . . WHY NOT JUST DO IT THAT way?!?! It worked, it demonstrated Ben's insecurity. It wasn't broken and didn't need fixing.
