Beau Garrett is Frankie Raye!

Well the movie sounds promising, especially adding Raye to the mix, but i think she's going to end up being there just to give reference to the comic. I don't expect her to gain superpowers in this movie. I don't know what direction Fox is going with this film. I'm not sold at all.

Didn't Raye already have some type of superpower before she became Galactus's herald? I believe Galactus just bumped her uped to suit her for interstellar travel.

It's like the x-boards all over again. A character with probably 10 minutes of screentime is just one too many characters:o

Maybe if Story died, and someone else had to direct F4's sequel.:oldrazz:

Thank you, Borat. You remark am very sightful.

Oh, and this was a real cute remark you made about Story on the Spidey boards:

Classy.

I wish you were on a plane watching F4 and suddenly the plane crashed.

That would be double the blow on you.

You should not say bad stuff like that. Wait for the TEASER and then we will decide if this movie will be an improvement or not.

Please keep in mind that Karma has no one's name on it. Therefore, stop wishing death on other people. That's tacky as hell.

Who in the hell would wish death upon the director of Fantastic Four, mods they should be banned, wishing death upon people has to be breaking the rules somehow.

As far as Garrett as Frankie Raye, sounds cool to me! I just hope they don't expand too much on her charachter because from the looks of it there will be alot going on this time around, save it for the 3rd ;)

It would be cool to see how hard of a time Johnny's having with narrowing it down to one chick. :word:

I'm not wishing death on him, but if he happens to fall off of the Earth, get Ridley Scott on the horn. So that I know we're not in for another music video type romp of a film.:o

Ok I know a simple 'yes' would suffice but here's the deal as best as I can remember it:

In the comics Frankie was revealed to be the step-daughter of Phineus Horton, creator of the original android Human Torch (she and presumably her mom didn't know who he was at the time). After the FF first appeared, Horton was apparently so annoyed at johhny taking the name of his 'son' he decided he would build another Torch. When he went to collect his stashed equipment Frankie was with him and she wound up getting soaked in chemicals from a dropped cannister, and these turned her into a human torch herself. However she couldn't turn off the flame so Horton whipped up a special costume to control her powers that turned invisible after he wiped her memory of the whole thing, including who he really was (I think he also placed a subconcious fear of fire in her mind at the time as well).

Anyways, time passed and she wasn't any the wiser until she started seeing the invisible costume in her reflection after going out with Johhny for a time. After the costume finally re-appeared in full, with Johhny's help she remembered everything and her own Torch powers kicked back in.

Now moving on to Galactus...After an already weakened Galactus was nearly killed by the FF and a half dozen or so other heroes (Reed famously saved his life) the big G was faced with the dilemna of being too weak to find another world himself in time and didn't have enough power to create a herald from scratch who could find one for him, thus leaving them all back where they started: he either consumed Earth or died himself. Up stepped Frankie, who Galactus did have enough power to augment and Nova was created (much to Johnny's distress).

Edited to add: Just saw the bio for her on the first page contains much of the same stuff (doh), sans the special suit Horton made bit.

Could be cool.

Hopefully, she won't take too much screen time away from the core four, Doom, Silver Surfer and Alicia.

I'm guessing she may be brought to the lab to assist Reed in figuring out what the Silver Surfer is about and has some romantic moments with Johnny. Perhaps they could hint that her interest in the Silver Surfer's powers extends beyond wanting to stop him and more to wanting similar powers for herself (thus setting up a confrontation with Johnny who cannot believe she could consider acting in the same manner as the Silver Surfer).

Also wouldn't mind if her latent superpowers are hinted at, for instance, if she shows some sort of resistance to Johnny's body heat and/or flames? But probably wouldn't want to see superpowers exhibited at this early stage.

Then FF3 could end with a defeated Galactus leaving Earth and Frankie volunteering to go with him as his new herald.

Cheers.

I hope very little takes away from the core 4. Actually I hope it has been written in a way that nothing is taken away from the 4.

Look at it this way: Johnny is one of the 4. Johnny's relationships are a big part of what makes Johnny Johnny. Adding Frankie doesn't take away from Johnny, but adds to him. If you want to see the Four (rather than the Surfer, Doom, etc.) then Frankie will help make the movie about "the 4".

Think about it. If we had seen more Alicia in the first film, we would have (and should have) had more Ben, not less.

I don't expect there will be long scenes of Frankie by herself or hanging out with friends other than Johnny. I'm willing to bet that 95% of the time she's in the movie, Johnny will be there also.

 Yep. If word comes that Kerry Washington is shooting a lot more scenes than last time for this movie, I'll consider that good news indeed.
FF is also about extended family, not just family.

Wyatt Wingfoot would probably be pushing it, though.
But I'd be thrilled to see him in a Dr. Connors/Lizard type cameo.

And FF Mailman Willie Lumpkin better be back. :) I'm crossing my fingers we'll get to see a re-enactment of his most famous scene, where he offers his services as a reserve member if ever needed: "I can wiggle my ears..."
It would be cool to see Stan in a cameo that lasted more than 8 seconds!

Hey, maybe they'll have a scene with Silver Surfer on the toilet, like Reed Richards--or have a bird release himself on Galactus, like The Thing. I have my fingers crossed for the sequel. Tim Story is the bottom of a barrel in the director's chair, let us hope for the best...or at least hope for something decent this time around.:o

Hmm. I didn't realize Story wrote all those scenes.
And here I thought I knew what a director did.

But that's all beside the point.
Everyone's entitled to their opinion on a director's qualifications, but labeling an individual a "f---ing ******" because you find their work unsatisfactory is just trollish scumbaggery in my opinion.
I won't even go into the inherent bigotry of throwing "******" around.
But I will point out that the phrase is "bottom of the barrel," not "bottom of a barrel."
:cwink:

Oh look, it's my English teacher correcting me again, thanks teach, you'll get a nice shiny apple first thing tomorrow morning.:)

Tim Story (as the director) had to approve of those "******ED" scenes, and so he did. Maybe when the Silver Surfer arrives on Earth, another cute doggie can bow his head and cover his eyes in fear of him.:p

And what is it with you people, if someone has an opinion different from yours, they're called TROLLS, what's that all about?

By the way, that actress playing Frankie Raye is a looker, I wonder at what point in the film, will she have to stand in the middle of the street half naked, because she lacks the ability to act.

Actually, I'd say I was admonishing you for lack of tact and manners.
I wouldn't put grammar at the top of your "needs work" list, but yeah, it's a concern and could affect your final grade.
But you're welcome.

Tim Story (as the director) filmed what he was told. Don't be naive.
And given the trainwreck of a script he was saddled with (and being hired at the 11th hour) I'm sure he found himself overseeing plenty of crap scenes he was praying would be left out in the end.
The idea that Story had any veto-power over which scenes would be shot is really funny.
Still, it's worth pointing out (once again) that were it not for Story, Doom would have had no mask, no hood and no cape.

A good director can make a bad script into a bearable movie.
That's what I think happened with FF1.

F4 2 is shaping up good. Nova being setup in this movie will leave a great ending for the next movie. I believe Story will make a great film.

No. If someone expresses an opinion in an idiotic way, they're called trolls.

There are plenty of people on here (myself included) who have concerns with Tim Story, and we have discussed him and his abilities many times in the past.

If you act like a jerk, you're going to get treated like a jerk no matter what your opinion is. People will argue with you just because they don't like you.

Too bad your opinion is factless and as biased as they come.

As far as I'm concerned, I'll wait for the final product of course, but this sounds pretty good even though they're introducing a ton of new characters.

In my opinion sometimes helps people swallow a different opinion from their own. That is your opinion right?

Haha i cant believe they're adding frankie in this movie so soon, i wonder if she'll become nova or if they'll hint at it.

hmm very interesting.

Then the movie would be boring:oldrazz: ...seriously F4 isn't gold, but Ridley's movies bore the hell out of me and his brother's hurt my head.
