The Tourist is horrible. Public Enemies, The Rum Diary and Dark Shadows most certainly are not.

Not that any of that is relevant. He use to do plenty of bad movies. No one complained about that then. Maybe because he wasn't actually make great money?

But The Ninth Gate, The Astronaut's Wife, Nick of Time, Dead Man... those exist.

In concept, it isn't a typical Disney manufactured project. If all it takes is for Disney's name to be attached, that is pretty ridiculous.

The Tourist is the worst movie Depp has done. It's so baffling how bad it was despite its talent. Nasty awful!

The first one didn't make so much because of the 3D alone, it was also because it atracted a major part of the female audience, now with the sequel i'm interested to see how much money it will get in comparison, we're no longer in a day where sequels make a percentage of what their 1st film generated, unless it's the sequel of a romantic comedy or to a film that is too old by the time the sequel comes out.

Disney also need another film series to further help them steal billions from the box-office and expand their power on the film business, they already have Pirates of the Caribbean, Marvel Studios (which releases 2 films a year, and after The Avengers most of them will probably make 700 million to 1 billion, with Avengers sure to allways break the billion mark), Pixar and now Alice. If those films are also successful then Cinderella and Maleficent may also turn into great money maker franchises.

Right now Disney has all the pieces in place and by 2017 they may be the most powerful studio in Hollywood, the only ones that may be able to rival them is WB and maybe Fox when Avatar 2,3 and 4 cames out and if they can put their franchises (X-Men, Alien and Planet of the Apes) in good use and make the audience care.

I guess we can safelly say this will have a 2016 or 2017 release date, i wonder what they're going to do in this one, wasn't the queen defeated? What was Into the Looking Glass even about?

I'm surprised Disney opted to scheduled Alice in Wonderland 2 for May 2016, rather than March like the first pic. Maybe the May date indicates that Pirates of the Caribbean 5 won't be made?

As for the sequel, it still feels a little unneccesary to me, but as a big Depp fan I know I'll follow it to some degree.

It wasn't, just pushed back for 2017. But considering Disney now has Marvel and Lucasfilm, as disapointing it would be for me, i wouldn't be surprised at all if they ended up canceling the Pirates films.

As for Alice 2, it can't real be worse than the last film, and this Director did the Muppets films, which i heard were great, so i'm cautiously optimistic about this whole project.
