Probably because the sales for the first game wasn't all that great. I think it only sold 2 million copies in 6 months when it was first released.

It wasn't a smash hit when it launched. It has been a consistent lifetime seller though. Always does big numbers when it goes on sale.

I can confirm that announcement is real. All their official social media are posting that.

I am pretty confident that Alien Romulus's success, along with them mentioning Isolation in a lot of the interviews, is what lead to it getting a greenlight.
