While that mask looks far more inspired than anything from the PWS Anderson abortion, it still looks man-made unlike the mask from the first Predator movie which didn't.

I think I understand what you mean. The new mask is purposely made to look evil, while the first mask was just for protection and a vision aid. It didn't serve to intimidate it's prey.

the queen looks pretty standard. i'm actually a lil' disappointed because it looks too neat and clean. as for the predator mask...i'm indifferent. it looks "cool" but i'm not really liking the writing on the forehead or the spikes on the side. they managed to make predator 2's mask look different form predator 1's mask without having to add extra things to it...i was hoping for a similar change. i guess it'll still be cool to look at on screen...

UPDATE: not really news as such, but I thought this was cool - any fans would know that the preds had nicknames to distinguish them from one another in the first movie (e.g Celtic, Chopper, Scar...)

well, in AvP2, the nickname given to the predator isnt to do with his appearance, but his mission. the predator in avp2 is called

'The Wolf'

because he has to clean up the mess that the incompetent clan from the first made (its a reference to Mr Wolf from Pulp Fiction)

I thought that was quite cool, nothing major, but still quite geeky.
