No wonder why everyone's talking about a prequel- no one wants Alien 5 to be a sequel to that (if Alien 5 is ever made).
I do. I want an Alien 5 that takes Ripley #8 deeper into the exploration of her inner conflict and has her finally facing the aliens at the source more than I want almost anything on Earth.
I managed to enjoy Resurrection, although the first script draft was better - of course, it would also have cost over 100 million dollars, but you know, whatever. The ending is the weakest part - waaaaay too predictable and derivative from the moment Ripley escapes the nest. And a few line deliveries need work. Otherwise I think it's got a lot of interesting ideas and of course, just like the highly flawed Alien 3, it looks great. It's not as good as the first two movies, but those two are so damn near flawless it's kind of an impossible task for any sequel.

t: Well, I can see both sides of the argument. On the Aliens' side, their hero character killed two Predators in one stroke, owned the humans, and ultimately won in their own way through the birth of the Predalien chestburster that will undoubtedly kick off AVP2 by killing many Preds. But on the Predator's side, Scar owned a facehugger and Adult at the same time, wiped out the entire colony, and finished off the Queen to boot all in the span of what was to be a three-man hunt with more powerful weaponry to use than just their average melee tools.
