Needless to say, a mad scientist was born out of the nightmarish incident, who tries to domesticate an alien.

In that story, there's a flashback where the Aliens have lost the Queen and are trying to continue the hive by finding new ways to reproduce. One of the ways is what's been mentioned: having a facehugger impregnate a woman through the "other" orifice. The woman dies, and the hybrid babies prove to be failures.

It's quite a disturbing book. It has egg-morphing and Aliens attempting to force humans to mate.

that would've made a better movie, both Aliens "Labyrinth" and "Salvation" are awesome, and have way more cinematic moments than this piece of crap film.
Labyrinth showed Aliens as Killing machines, yes, but also as able to from complex thoughts and even hypothesis.
man, even that horrible William Gibson script fro Alien3 was better than this.

I agree. The maternity ward sequence had the capacity to make the creatures scary, but they somehow managed to fudge up even on that. Salerno was a really bad choice for this script.

Have you ever read the Eric Red's Alien 3 script? If you thought Gibson's didn't make sense, that script can only be understood under the influence of something strong.

see!! i knew it made no sense to add that broad!! thank you "sir":hehe:

It made complete sense..It was a decent little surprise but the unfortunate thing is that you have to be a staunch fan of the originals to have gotten it. As one of those fans, I liked it a lot, but I can see how it was lost on a majority of the audience. If you lok at AVP-R as an episode in the saga, it fits in nicely.

It fits into the saga because in a movie that's 86 minutes long only 1 or 2 of them have an impact on the Alien franchise's timeline.

was that the guy who had the idea of having a 1 foot atmosphere on a planet made of wood? if so, wtf was he thinking? if not...........wtf was THAT writer thinkin'? hehe

That was Vincent Ward. His script was re-tooled and used as the final film. Fox was going to make it as he wrote it, but they pulled out at the beginning of the production and had him revise it. For once, it's one of the few times they did something that made sense. I really didn't like Ward's idea of an Alien warrior raping Ripley or the Alien King he introduced.

The horror that is Red's script would be this: http://home.online.no/~bhundlan/scripts/alien3/red.txt

I rewatched the first AVP last night. I still think it is one of the least of the series. And though I still think AVP-R is better, AVP did have some things going for it. It's not "Alien Resurrection bad", but what does bother me is much like Resurresction, it had some good ideas to work with and took some wrong turns.

1. The cast was good enough. Especially the idea to use Lance Henrikson. Certainly a better cast than AVP-R.
2. There was definitely some creativity going on there. That opening shot with what looks like a queen and becomes an orbiting satelite surprised me and I still think that is a great shot.
3. The idea of Predators visiting ancient civilizations and using Earth as a sort of "caged hunt" for Aliens.
4. The Aliens looked and acted great. They were also made to be pretty tough...as they should be. I can't complain about the Aliens in this film. In fact, it may sound silly but I think one of the more interesting characters in the movie is the Grid Alien

But the flaws seem to severely outweigh the pros for me by nature of just outright frustration.

1. The whole shifting, Rubiks cube stone pyramid. That idea really just irks me. It seems silly and I still don't get the purpose??
2. I'm not one to tout gore over substance in a story, but it just felt really tame. And some of the action scenes are just silly. Too much slow-mo. Alien and Predator shouldn't be bullet-time!..And I have one thing to say about this...A slow-mo shot of Predator running from an explosion?...really?..I mean...really?!
The gore and level of frightening intensity in the monster action is where AVP-R kicked it's predecessor up and down the curb. AVP-R was just so much more creative in it's scare "gags", like punching through a hard hart, and "See, no monster", to name a couple.
3. A Predator and human team-up? I get it..She had to give him his gun back to end it, but it just renders the Predator less scary and too aproachable..And I dont want to see that.
4. And this is a big one...the Predators were huge, lumbering, rubbery looking and just unconvincing. The suits DID look too rubbery, and as many have said before..I just don't get how it could look so much better 20 years ago. I guess Stan Winston really IS a genius.
And the actors that played the Predators were just no good. The look and the way the Predator was portrayed is another area where AVP-R kicked the snot out of AVP. It was the same actor this time around in Requiem as it was in AVP but it was obvisous he had done his homework this time. And so had the designers because he looked great. The look and the body language and movements were the same that Stan Winston and Kevin Peter Hall gave the species 20 years ago.

I know these are the same gripes we heard over 3 years ago when the movie came out, but after watching it again, particularly after seeing AVP-R, it was really driven home. AVP-R, though very flawed, was a much truer film to the franchises. Hell, they even used some of the same music, which is a big plus for me.

I don't know that the guy did his homework, it might have simply been that the AvP:R costume was easier to move around in.

Anyone remember Major "Dutch" Schafer from the Alien vs. Predator arcade game? I don't care if you're a predator or a xenomorph, a guy with a smart gun rig in his arm is NOT going down without a fight. :word::up:

I just saw I Am Legend...man seeing Zombies vs. Aliens would be freaking sweet I think.

The aliens would cut through the zombies like a machete through brush. There's not really much that the zombies would be able to do against the aliens. I don't think it'd be possible for a chest burster to grow in a zombie though.

I haven't and looks like I wouldn't want.
I read neuromancer under pressure from a few friends and it wasn't THAT bad, but Jesus that script was awful.

Hmm... Yesterday I got a fascinating urge to try and make a Corporal Hicks custom Sigma 6 GI Joe action figure. Now my head is swarming with ideas, but unfortunately I think it will have to wait, because I've already got two other figures in the pipeline that I haven't even started on. :(

How bout 'Aliens Vs Predazombies' :cwink:

I suppose it all depends on what kind of zombies we're talking about. If we're talking about the Max Brooks approved shuffling corpses, then a zombie Predator would still get whooped by a Xenomorph. But if we're talking something more along the lines of 28 Days Later's fast and brutal zombies, then maybe there'd be a bit more of a fight going on.

:whatever: not zombies infected...

if you want fast moving zombies the only mainstream is Dawn of the Dead the re-make

Can call "the infected" zombies if I darned well want to. My criteria for zombies is one of the more liberal ones.

This movie was terrible..it was just as bad as AVP one, if not worst.

Heres hoping that this franchise starts getting the respect it deserves,

Just change the "28 days later" to "Dawn of the Dead" and everybodies happy :oldrazz:

Are you kidding me?Please tell me this guy was commited and then shot repeatedly in the head....

Alien Cattle? Alien Mosquitos? An Alien Rooster that was more like a Pteradactyl? A guy injecting himself and becoming an Alien?

people you need to read this just to feel your insides rupture as you laugh....

people slate Alien 3 (Which is my fav by the way) but just be thankful it wasnt this script....

What I want to know is what did this guy say to Fox executives during his interview that convinced them to hire him? "I'm the writer and director for that cult horror classic called Body Parts.":oldrazz:

Why does Fox keep hiring hacks to produce franchises that were once respectable? It's as if Fox wants to destroy all the franchises that were making them money.

Give it a 5 and like AVP and A:R I begin the process of removing it from my memory.
