Supergirl All About The Ratings!!!!!!

I don't know that it would devalue him, but I really don't want more than a couple, MAYBE 3 more episodes with him in it.....BIG EPISODES, of course.... :cwink:

My theory (which is mine) is that the positive reaction towards Hoechlin is due to certain specific factors. E.g., it’s the first ever live-action team-up of SM and SG; there’s the contrast/controversy between Hoechlin’s (more traditional) version of Superman and Cavill’s (darker) cinematic version; etc. But this novelty/excitement would, methinks, fade quickly in the context of a TV series based on the standard mythology (Metropolis, Lois Lane, the Daily Planet, etc. :sleepy:)

As a guest star, however, Superman would enjoy several advantages - and avoid many liabilities.

Well, I think a possible Superman/Hoechlin series could be fun. It would of course depend on casting of Lois Lane and Lex Luthor. Plus James would probably have to go home to Metropolis. I do think they should send the Supergirl crew over to Metropolis for a couple episodes. and maybe have Mxyptlk show up because you know they are never going to have him in the movies.

I don't know that I could disagree with you on that....

After seeing the ratings for last night's episode of the Flash, it appears that Supergirl has the highest viewership while Flash has the highest rating for CW. I may have stated too soon about Supergirl being the highest rated show when it should have been highest viewed.

From 3mil to 2.6mil isn't remotely bad. And next week could easily do better.
Yeah, that's a perfectly solid post-premiere drop, imo. And the .9 rating is actually what I was predicting the premiere would get, so if the normal episodes end up stabilizing around 0.8-0.9, I'd consider that pretty darn good for this show.

The rating for last night's Supergirl is 0.9 and 2.77 million viewers. The rating is the same as last week, but viewership increased from last week's 2.6 million. Basically 2.77 would round to 2.8 million viewers.

It's likely to take a hit though, since some CW affiliates were showing the Monday Night Football game.

Yep....it will be adjusted down quite a bit.

The early rating proved that Supergirl can do fine without Superman and Cat Grant.

I don't believe that people were watching a Supergirl show for Cat Grant. Also SuperGirl will have to survive on its own merits not based on guest stars. Next week's ratings will tell the real story, if there's not another game.

A .1 drop when you have a portion of you channels showing something else is fine.

It just depends on the region....for us, it was the Texans playing in a HUGE divisional game...against our QB's old team, so therefore it was shown on a station that everyone could watch it, not just those with the NFL channel.

Throughout the game it was constantly showing at the top of the screen when Supergirl could be seen....and commercials for it throughout the night as well.

Somehow KIAH was able to take a feed from ESPN as this was a Monday Night Football game, and override some of the ESPN graphics. The station was doing that as a service to those who have "cut the cord" or for those who don't want cable to begin with. It gave them the feeling KIAH was prodcuing it, but some astute fans will have noted the clear elements namely the Heavy Action theme (An MNF tradition), the ESPN infobar, and of course announcers Sean McDonough (who also calls college basketball and MLB baseball...he was once the Red Sox broadcaster) and former Tampa Bay Bucs coach John Gruden. Some of us who follow the media tend to be a bit persnickety that way.

I have no clue what you are talking about....:huh:

Glad that there is no World Series game tonight.
Better ratings that way.

I don't know about other people, but......Trick or Treating lasted until 8pm where I live. My daughter was out with her cousins, I had to go their house and pick her up at 8....then we talked about what all they had done....which means I didn't get back home until around 8:45. I didn't get to watch last night's episode (will see it in a day or two ON DEMAND).....there could be a lot of people who didn't get to see last night's episode because of Halloween.

Yeah, Halloween is particularly rough on the younger skewing shows.

It's probably best to just forget tonight's number. All networks knew the 8pm slot was headed for carnage this week.

We'll see how things work out next week.
