Word is he want's to start shooting it early next year. Doesn't Jake have The Man who Made it Snow to film around that time?

My guess is it's Tom Hardy.:o

Tom Hardy >>> Jake Gyllenhaal, says my ovaries. :awesome:

I'm calling it now... Jake Gyllenhaal will the lead. I can feel it in my bones and stuff. :awesome:

Why do you think Gyllenhaal is the lead? Has there been rumors?

Jai Courtney lead role pls. Thank you.

OMG. I almost want this to happen just to see the internet world burn. :lmao:

Haha no rumors. Just a (weird) feeling on my part. McConaughey was cast when he was at the peak of his career revival and Jake is at that point now. IIRC he also attended one of those tribute thingies for Nolan, he has the same agent as Bale, Jackman, and Damon (who all have worked with Nolan), he was considered for Batman which means he's met him already, etc.

My other guess is Damon but I'm still betting on Jake.

I read a rumour on another board yesterday that this project is something Nolan came up with when he was a teen, but I've no idea where that came from.

Jake in the lead role would be great. He's going to need to get a Prince of Persia tan. That seems to be a requirement for all of Nolan's leading men in his recent films.

btw this is an audio recording of the tribeca talk with bennet miller and nolan:
[YT]vsPFVSbJBBM[/YT]

audio gets better after a couple minutes..

the interview is quite good. Miller mostly asks pretty serious stuff but its still interesting I think.

There is a moment at the end where an audience member askes chris about the ending of inception (to the amusement of the crowd).
Its pretty funny and nolan didnt took any offense but made it very clear why he wouldnt answer that. The surprising thing was,
that miller said he asked him that question before too and nolan told him the answer but its not really for public consumtion.

I'm a bit disappointed by that ^^. When he says we should have our own opinion miller should have his own too :P

Damon or Jake would be ace, but I'd personally love to see him reunite with Hugh Jackman, mainly because The Prestige is his best film IMO.

I'm dancing a jig right now. George Clooney has been my dream Nolan teaming for a while, but Jake would be exemplary.

Why the sarcasm? Are the stories of Nolan and Hardy not seeing eye-to-eye on the TDKR set true, then?

I didn't know there were stories about Nolan and Hardy.

I'd always assumed Nolan was one of the few directors Hardy actually does get along with.

He came up with it when he read a Donald Duck story :o

So, Tom Hardy's a hard actor to work with? Anyways, great news, been waiting to get some updates on Nolan's next film.

According to a lot of people, yes.

But I hadn't heard anything about him not getting along with Nolan.

Has Nolan given any clue as to what genre his next movie will be?

A dark and gritty reboot of The Brady Bunch starring Tom Hardy and Jessica Chastain.

I was so convinced Hardy would be Nolan's next lead in his next non-Batman film after Inception and TDKR. Yet he wasn't in Interstellar at all. Whilst McConaughey was re-structuring his career admirably, casting him in a sc-fi blockbuster was still a left field choice but nonetheless paid off beautifully.

But I'd really love to see Nolan work with Bale again. I think this director/actor partnership still has so much to offer.

I'd like to see Nolan team up with Hardy and/or Bale again.

Both are known to be somewhat difficult to work with, but both also got along swimmingly with Nolan. Is Nolan the actor-whisperer? :awesome:

So what are we thinking?

- Bond?
- Metal Gear Solid?
- Inception 2?
- A Horror Film?
- A Western?
- A Time Travel Film?
- A Hard-Boiled Detective Noir?
- A Period Piece?
- A Horror Noir Period Piece about a Hard-Boiled Detective who Time Travels to the Old West?

In all seriousness, I think the project is either The Exec or Ruth Rendall's The Keys to the Street, the latter of which is already fully drafted.

The Exec was developed as a comic book, last I heard.

Welcome to the world of The Exec, where business gets done with a smile, a handshake, and an AK-47! And this ain't even the post office! In this offbeat, irreverent tale, corporations have achieved the status of nations, and if you're not tops in the boardroom, you'll find yourself laid out on the coroner's slab. Your income and assets are the only things keeping you alive -- unless you remembered to pack your butcher knife or grenade launcher with your brown bag lunch. Jack Pierce finds himself smack dab in the middle of this tongue-in-cheek look at the world of big business, but will this job give new meaning to being terminated?
