All the other movies in Nolan's filmography feel 'Nolan', insomnia feels like anyone could have made it and that's why for me it is dead last even below Following.

Maybe because it was a remake. But I agree, and it feels the most "slight" and by far the least ambitious of his movies.

Insomnia was still great for the odd film out. I wish other directors I love had Insomnia as their "worst" film.

1. Inception
2. Interstellar
3. The Prestige
4. The Dark Knight Rises
5. Batman Begins
6. Insomnia
7. Memento
8. The Dark Knight

TDK is the only one that just doesn't gel with me at all.

6. The Dark Knight Rises (the only one so far I've actively disliked)

The Dark Knight
Batman Begins
The Dark Knight Rises
Insomnia

My favorite director, so even though a movie like TDK (which I would say is maybe the best comic book movie, together with X-Men DOFP and Avengers) is nr5, I still love it a lot. For me, the two "duds" would be TDKR and Insomnia. And I still really enjoy these, but I haven't rewatched them nearly as much as the best ones. Memento is the firm nr1, with Inception and Prestige trading places behind. Interstellar, I thought was fantastic. Definitely his most emotional movie.

This wait is excruciating.

After watching True Detective, I want a supernatural /paranormal thriller with Matthew McCaunaghey as a detective. Fightin' ghosts n' ****, Nolan style.

Interstellar is his most underrated movie, and Batman Begins might be his most overrated.

TDK is my favorite, but that's for reasons beyond the quality of the movie. Objectively speaking, his best movie I think is still Memento.

Regarding Interstellar, I think it's one of his weaker movies.

I'd really love another mystery/thriller from Nolan.

CHRISTOPHER NOLAN HAS MADE A NEW SHORT FILM, AND IT'S PREMIERING IN NYC NEXT MONTH

And just like that, there’s a new Christopher Nolan movie on the way—by “on the way,” we mean less than weeks from now. And it's a barely a minute fraction of The Dark Knight or Interstellar's respective size.

The king of the thinking man’s Hollywood blockbuster, Christopher Nolan is one of those filmmakers whose every project is an event, which makes his latest project’s on-the-down-law nature so delightfully refreshing and unexpected. He's quietly made a new short film, titled Quay, about Stephen and Timothy Quay, a pair of Pennsylvania-born and London-based identical twins who’ve earned a large and faithful following for their stop-motion animation work.

Nolan’s short will make its world premiere as part of Film Forum’s larger series THE QUAY BROTHERS – IN 35MM, which Nolan has curated himself and will screen: In Absentia (2000), The Comb (1991) and Crocodiles (1986).
On Wednesday, August 19, Christopher Nolan and the Quay brothers will be in attendance at Film Forum for a Q&A following the world premiere of Nolan’s Quay.

Sneaky, Mr Nolan! How did he manage to keep this quiet?

Hopefully, it gets some kind of wide release.

It's a short, I'm sure it was filmed in swift fashion.

A few weeks ago it was revealed Nolan had finished the screenplay to his next movie. His next full length feature is still in the pipeline I'm assuming.

But, the question is, is Michael Caine in it? :hmm

Why only settle for one when you get all three? The Nolan has the power to do it.

I can't decide between Interstellar and Inception for my favorite Nolan film. Inception for DiCaprio, but Interstellar is just amazing all around for me. I can't go with a Batman film for my favorite because as great as those movies are, he had half the work done for him already. Adapted stories with a built in fanbase. His original projects are really something else.

Sneaky Nolan. Interested to see him doing something so unexpected.

:funny: Which bigtime Hollywood directors even bother with non-feature films now, let alone a short film? You do you, and awesomely, Mr. Nolan sir!
