All First Look Pics (Thought This Would Help)

I am neither a fan or hater of G.I. Joe, I just think this movie is going to suck.

Keep it going, keep jumping to conclusions about how much is going to suck all because they have dared changing some details, because is not 100% like the cartoon, because you prefer cheesy, ridiculous outfits despite being a live action movie with real people, not a friggin comic, yeah "it sucks". :whatever:

Scarlett is the only Joe in the movie whose "classic" costume could be called cheesy. All the other featured characters wear basic variances of military fatigues. These bionic supersuits are a hell of a lot cheesier than that.

But the movie is set a little ways into the future and those costumes are based off of what Military fatigues are expected to look like then... Not Military fatigues from the 80s.

Honestly People. sometimes I think people go out of their way to hate something.

There's no way these mech suits would be inexpensive enough to equip the armed services with in the next decade or so (which the movie takes place in).

You do realize the U.S. is currently spending nearly $1 billion/day in Iraq, right? Of course they would shell out money for something like that.

And yet they were still dragging their feet when it came to supplying current-tech body and vehicle armor for the troops. Most soldiers had to rely on their families to help fund purchasing their armor (which many have yet to be reimbursed for by the gov't).

Anyhow, I don't want the topic to derail any more, so I'm done on this subject.

Maybe not whole armed Services... but a specialized division of the armed services? I don't know. Maybe something like Deta Force, the Army Rangers.. or ... maybe. I don't know.... the Gi Joe team?

I mean would it really make sense to equip a special military unit 10 years from now with equipment that looks like it was developed in the 80s? Honestly... think about that a minute...

Well, in all fairness, I don't think people are complaining that the costumes aren't exactly like the comic/cartoon, but rather that the costumes are absolutely nothing like the comic/cartoon.

It's more the fact that people are writing the movie off as trash based only on the uniforms. I think that's silly...

I don't know if the movie is going to be good or not but I do know that there is no way I can tell that from these pictures. They look like high tech troops ready for battle. So they have a uniform now instead of each their own gear? Big deal.

Gi Joe was awesome when I was a kid and I loved it but I am not going to be avoid the movie because they decided to go with a standard Uniform for the team on combat mission instead of Football jersey's, yellow spandex, and WWII era Kaki's.

If I remember correctly, about a year ago, a lot of people were say similar things about Transformers. Then, when it cam out, many were pleased with the final result. My point, wait to see more before you judge. Or, if you must, compete to see who can complain the loudest with the least amount of information.

People are writing off the movie on more than just the costumes, though. The choice of director, plots points like Duke and Baroness having a past relationship, etc. These uniforms are just the most recent thing to complain about.

Again, very similar to the b******* that was done on the Transformers boards last year.

Yeah I have to say Stephen Sommers attached to anything at this point is pretty much a turnoff for me personally. He really is just awful.

Sorry Dude, but from the "supposed" script I read he doesn't get the mask (nanomites) until the very end of the movie.
And yeah this movie is going to suck.
And yet the description that goes with that picture. Says he has a silver mask that he only dons for battle. What to believe.....

Actally, The Mummy is a movie I tend to enjoy quite a bit. But, Van Helsing was pretty bad.

But hey, it could be worse, they could have gotten Uwe Boll or Schumacher.

All haters and bashers are always looking for excuses to hate something, showing how empty they are emotionally, who the flying frak cares that much about something that is not even real, be a TV show, a movie, a comic, a cartoon? Oh yeah, because maybe they have too much free time on their hands. :o

Actually yeah The Mummy is actually an enjoyable movie I agree but the CGI in it really took it down a big notch. Pretty much every movie Sommers has directed has the worst big budget CGI I have ever witnessed. It just took me out of the movie when I see those cartoony looking characters in the Mummy sorry. Also the sequel blew and so did the Scorpion King. Why they made a spinoff movie I will never know. Van Helsing is a shining example of why Sommers is awful. He had everything for success handed to him on a platter. Big budget, amazing cast and awesome concept and characters. Failed on every level.

And I really don't see why Schumacher gets so much hate. Yeah he made ****ty Batman movies but a lot of his other movies are amazing. He just took the wrong approach with Batman and catered to the studios and just focused on something that would sell merchandise. I would trust Schumacher with a movie like this as long as he actually makes a serious movie and not a toy commerical for kiddies that the studio would salivate over.

Sorry for the rant I guess I have the opinion bug stuck up my ass tonight. :o
