The Dark Knight All signs lead to an amusement park confrontation

Yeah, I believe it. The truck, some rumors about an abandoned amusement park, and the mirrors thing leads me to believe that will be the site of the Joker/Batman confrontation. At least I hope it is - it would be so classic.

Great post, BubbaGump. I for one would love to see such a confrontation take place in the film!

I can just imagine that one scene from Killing Joke, where Batman first gets to the Carnival, and he gets out of the Batmobile. Joker just gives him that look.

This one?

Heh. I'm in a scanning type of mood.

I'd LOVE to see Joker kidnap Rachel, and leave a note for Batman. Letting Batman know WHERE he took her, almost DARING Batman to come and save her. Batman gets there and, over a speaker system, he hears Joker's voice. "Monologuing(sp)" almost, just to try and distract him. A series of lights light up, leading straight to the House of Mirrors, or what Joker calls it the "Fun House." Batman goes in and proceeds to run a gauntlet of boobietraps and such much like in the Killing Joke. Batman finishes the gauntlet and makes it out of the Fun House with a few bruises and bumps, but he makes it. Joker's got Rachel in some elaborate deathtrap inside a HUGE tent behind the Fun House. Maybe have her tied to a chair, on a crane, dangling her above a vat of acid or a tank with two sharks Joker stole from the Aquarium(don't ask me how he did it, he's the Joker). Blah, blah, blah, Joker and Batman go back and forth a little, Batman saves Rachel and they start to have a very short moment which distracts Batman for a few seconds and pisses the Joker off something awful. Joker begins to make his escape, but before he leaves, he pulls out a revolver, turns and shoots Rachel right in the stomach. Pretty much right infront of Batman. Rachel dies in Batman's arms, with Joker making his escape and laughing all the way. Now, take the scene from Hush and just substitute Tommy Elliot with Rachel, and you've got a GREAT Joker plot-line ending for this movie.

Yep. That looks just screams "Yeah, I've shot and paralyzed your friend's daughter, and tortured your friend to near insanity. Whatcha gonna do about it?"

A Theme Park Confrontation would give Warner Bros. an excuse to build a nice Dark Knight themed roller coaster or some other ride at Warner Bros. Movie World, it's a theme park in Australia, it's the home of DC comics and Warner Bros. With most major family films they open another attraction up. Superman Coaster with Superman Returns. In 89 they had a virtual Bat-Jet simulator. Recently they have a Batwing thing which is like the tower or terror only upwards. They even made a Scooby Doo coaster. It kind of helped that they filmed Scooby Doo there.

Now that would be pretty awesome, and it would be great to see Bale's Batman pushed to his limits.

impossible. the ULTIMATE SECRET SPOILER for me is the batpod :o

seriously, though. this would be bat-ass.

Haha, that combo of words really does not work that well...

I would love for the finally confrontation to take place in an amusement park it's perfect for the Joker and it's so utterly creepy.

I want to see Bale's Batman experience the anger of loss that child Bruce didn't feel apparently.

That's the ONLY thing I didn't like about Begins. Young Bruce wasn't angry enough.

I would love for the final confrontation between Batman and Joker to be at an amusement park -- totally classic. The house of mirrors is a must, but I'd love to see them battling it out on a roller coaster, maybe even with Joker throwing bombs at Batman, etc. like in TAS.

Meh, I think that would be too reminiscent of the Monorail fight.

Only it would be 1000x sweeter. They wouldn't even have to be that similar, either.

Besides, for a Joker vs. Batman fight to be interesting you need an intricate setup like that.

A Hall of Mirrors set with death traps isn't intricate enough for you?

Well, they are filming near Navy Pier...

(a carnival on a boardwalk)

I thought that the film at Navy Pier so far has only been with boats. I guess they still could film some of it here with some sky line shots of the wheel and other parts on the ground in a backlot somewhere. Interesting, maybe I will head out to Navy Pier this weekend and snoop around if anything is still up.

You could even throw in the KILLING JOKE dialogue and material.

The Joker hurries through the hall of mirrors, surrounded by twisted reflections.

JOKER
Why aren't you laughing? Why don't you get the joke?

He runs right into Batman.

BATMAN
(furious)
Because I heard it before, and it wasn't funny the first time.

Batman grabs the Joker and slams him into a nearby mirror, cracking the reflection.

Where did the Dark Knight Picture Caption thread go?

Batman crashes through one of the mirror walls, hitting Joker and smashing him through another mirror wall and to the outside.

That was awesome, but I changed it a little to make it more brutal.

An amusement park confrontation would be absolutely amazing. Let's hope that's what they're doing.

So, WB, if you're listening: Amusement Park/House of Glass=Fans like!
