At this point, if Ayer sees something in Jai and he makes him a member of SS, I'm cool with it. Ayer works well with actors.

Yeah, he's an actor's director so I'm sure he can pull a decent performance out of him. Captain Boomerang is such a better fit for him than Deadshot as he would anchor the team. He's basically the "lead."

I can't make fun of Shia anymore after Fury. No lie, Shia's performance was great. Dude gave it 110%.

Hell I'd rather Aver direct Justice League than Snyder.

Captain Boomerang needs to be Australian. I'm pretty sure Margot Robbie won't be Cap Boomerang. Only Aussie left is Courtney.

Jai Courtney and Will Smith being up for the same role doesn't sound at all weird to you? Sure they are actors, but cmon that just doesn't sound right at all.

Not necessarily. If the role was for Malcolm X then yes it be weird. But if the role is for Deadshot, then you could go in a variety different direction in terms of actors that could potentially make sense for the role. Besides difference in skin color and Will Smith being a way better actor :o I think they both can fit the mold of the Deadshot character. In that sense It sounds as weird to me as the when Joaquin Phoenix was originally wanted for Lex Luthor and when he said no they went with Jesse Eisenberg instead.

I still think it's kinda cool that we've had an Australian Joker and we just might have an Australian Harley Quinn.

I stand by my Will Smith for Deadshot fan cast. It's another race swap, but I think the role would fit him well, since it's the kind of character that allows you to flaunt your charisma. As opposed to Black Manta. It obviously depends on how it's written for the film, but all that he shares with that character is race, from what I've read anyway.

I think there are better choices for Deadshot than Jai Courtney (Like Jon Bernthal, the dude would be crazy perfect for the role) but I am willing to wait and see how he does before dismissing his casting outright and also because we do not know for sure who the heck he is playing.

I took a peek at the Cavill imdb board. Oh lawd. A cesspool of lonely housewives. Any volunteers? I can't love them all. :BA

There are way more differences than just skin color and acting talent.

Also they both fit the mold of the deadshot character? I think it's easier to argue that neither fit the mold.

Agreed on Will Smith as Deadshot. I have always thought would be a good choice for that character. But I also think he could kick ass as Black Manta as well but I think he would be more suited for Deadshot personally.

I agree but I think he could play Rick Flag, or Rick Flag Jr. as war veteran, some kind of ex general, maybe he could lead the team.

How don't they fit the mold of Deadshot? While I think they are much better choices for Deadshot, I do not see how Will Smith(besides skin color) or Jai Courtney do not fit the mold of Deadshot.

So Suicide Squad is looking at about a good 4.5 months of filming.

Watch we find out Jai is Joker and Jared is Deadshot.

And then we find out that Joss Whedon was displeased with Aaron Johnson's performance in Age of Ultron, and in January he'll be re-shooting all of Johnson's scenes with the new Quicksilver: Aaron Paul.

Aaron Paul, which will be your profile photo if Jai isn't Boomerang.

How do they both fit the mold of Deadshot?

I just fail to see how the 3 share any similar characteristics other than all 3 are male.

Obviously one is a fictional character where there is a lot of leeway and the other 2 are actors who pretend to be something they are not but still.

Say I told you Will Smith and Jai Courtney are up for the same role what do you think it is? Would you really come up with Deadshot as they both "fit the mold" no, you would have absolutely no idea what it could be.

Moral of the story is I highly highly highly doubt Jai and Will are up for the same role but who knows.
