Man, I really hope this rumor is false. Gordon is a really crucial part of the Batman mythos. it'd be like making a Spider-Man film without Aunt May.

Cranston as Gordon...man...I want that.
If the rumor is false and if Gordon does end up being played by Cranston I'll be even more confident in this movie.

3 movies where Gordon was almost the main character. now WB is doing for 5 years avengers type movies without Gordon. so what?

in 10 years there will be a new reboot with a new origin movie with a new Gordon.

they're still doing solo movies, keep in mind.

I kind of see it but as greedy fan I want to see every character in this universe :)

exactly

DC has all the rights to their characters, theres no reason to leave anyone out.

and besides, Greed is good.

Would you have the same reaction if the Daily Planet staff were killed?

I mean, they're doing Avengers type films. So What?

I think it's a BS rumour, yes Gordon will be older and probably retired, given he would be around 66/67 years old, but to have him written out is a bad idea. Batman will need somebody on the force believing in him. If Gordon is written out completely in DoJ, it will be for the series unless we get some flashback scenes in the solo Batman film.

I guess they could go the batman beyond route by having Barbara as commissioner, but I'm not really feeling this new rumor. Jim Gordon is pretty crucial

So we're going from this...

to having to see something like this (TV Budget) on a weekly basis? Talk about a downgrade. haha

Honestly, I wonder what's the point of making so many of these TV Series set within universes that people love, but about people that we could care less about at times.lol

If one didn't know the origin of both pics, one could assume both are from the same thing. They don't look that different really.

And I doubt it'll cost that much to make some establishing shot structures for the planet.

Krypton is one of the most interesting and barely explored parts of the Superman lore, glad they are making a show about it.

still no Krypton forums? SHH is slow. :D

Krypton in MOS looked awesome. I doubt a TV budget could get it to those levels.

why should i care ? its a batman vs superman movie created only because Avengers made a lot money. MOS boxofice was not enough to make a normal superman sequel. :oldrazz:

who cares? let WB have those 5 years of trying a connected big DC universe. :woot:

To say DC/WB only are expanding their universe on the back of The Avengers, DC/WB had a plan once the TDK trilogy ended, knew it would take time, had a plan in mind but waited, and did the right thing, they waited, just because Marvel got there first, doesn't mean DC/WB are 'copying', yes Avengers was and always was going to be a big film $$$ wise, but equally WB/DC have the right to put their team film together.

Oh frikin hell for one day can't this board go without someone trolling?

Iron Man- Avengers
4 years

Man of Steel- Justice League
4 years

ZOMG Rushed. I agree it's definitely a "me too" situation. But who cares?

At the end of the day DC have been the pioneers of the comic book industry in idea, characters and their approach is one that I embrace more. Whilst I admire what Marvel Studios have delivered and undertaken, DC make the superior films and DoJ will prove as much.

As long as he's in a few flashbacks in the solo film, and Barbara has a good role, ill be fine. But we need to see Gordon.

Agreed and Same.

However, I won't say DC has superior films to Marvel. Reason being is because they haven't to this point.

What I will say though is that, unlike Marvel (whom has shown that they don't actively try to make films the quality of "Iron Man 1" and "The Winter Soldier" regularly), DC has always (at least since the beginning the of the Nolan era) tried make films the level of a Batman Begins or TDK.

Now granted, DC hasn't always succeeded in that regard (rarely in fact since TDK). And in Marvel's defense, they do make great films, despite not aiming for "IM1", "TWS", or hell, even "TDK" quality with each of their films. That said...... it's still clear that DC is the overachiever to Marvel's habitual underachiever.

And that said, I don't think there is anyone who can say DC's best (however few and far between they are) are outmatched by Marvel's best to this point. The issue, though, is that DC rarely hits that level, and struggles often to find a middle ground between that peak quality and complete trash. Whereas Marvel almost always finds their middle ground, occasionally going beyond that.

I wouldn't say Marvel is an underachiever considering they have a fair balance of quality and quantity. As of now, WB/DC is the underachiever. They've got the quality but not the quantity. However, that'll all change in the near future assuming everything goes to plan. WB/DC has a chance to go from underachiever to overachiever in a very short period of time.

WB is under achieving in nothing. People do realise they make tons of films a year right?

This is sad, not only would it be no Gordon in a Batman related thing but think of the lost potential...

All I could imagine was Snyder doing those lightning revealing scenes in Gordon's office.

Gah, I'm mad.
