To anyone born in the early 90s who will be turning 24-25 now, the only Robert De Niro roles they would know from watching in the theater would be (assuming that they only watched PG-13 movies till they were 13):
- Analyze This
- Analyze That
- Showtime
- Shark Tale
- Meet the parents
- Meet the fockers
- Little Fockers
- Rocky and Bullwinkle
- Stardust
- Limitless
- Silver Linings Playbook

And the same list for Al Pacino:
- Devil's Advocate
- The Insider
- Insomnia
- The Recruit
- S1m0ne
- Gigli
- Ocean's 13
- Jack and Jill

Both De Niro and Pacino's careers took a sharp u-turn after Heat, and Heat will be 20 years ago next year. What happened to these acting powerhouses?

devil's advocate was good, and meet the trilogy was funny :)

I wasn't a theater kid myself. I would rent with my family or buy on vhs. But ive been watching DeNiro and Pacino movies since i was a little boy. Early 90s. Im 26 now. Id say Pacino's last great film was Insomnia with Nolan, but there might be a more obscure one i haven't seen. His descent though, started post-90s. DeNiro was still killing it with Jackie Brown and that was 97'. What was the last great film DeNiro lead? Ronin?

Wow...just dawned on me that I haven't seen a single movie with Robert De Niro in it.

Start with Godfather Part 2, than Raging Bull, than Taxi Driver and work your way up.

Seeing Untouchables, Deer Hunter, Heat and Cape Fear is also mandatory.

It's going to be sad that Snyder will rob himself of bringing Gordon GCPD office Batman show-ups during a rainstorm ala BTAS to live action. That's all I hoped for in this film...

You taking these reports as true? We don't even know if he was cast. :cwink:

Hell, We know we will see Bruce Wayne's daddy, but no official announcement for Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

As a silver lining (if this report is true), it would be taking Batman down the road of a true loner vigilante. At least for his solo flicks. With Lucius, Robin, and Gordon out the equation, all his personal ties aside from Alfred are null and void. That could pave for an interesting depiction of Bruce against everyone else.

Exactly, IF this is true, don't shun it just yet. It could turn out to be a great twist. Btw, do we know how he dies? I'd actually like it if it was just from old age/natural cause.

And honestly guys, based off my constant examination of multiple leaked SDCC photos of the trinity (yes, theres more than "that one"), I think this is the closest to what we will see of the actual Batsuit in color. The legs may not be as dark though. But the chest symbol is most definitely not black. It's either grey with the suit or a darker shade, but not as dark as the surrounding cowel/cape.

I think the gray bodysuit is a shade darker than this and agree about the symbol. Though I'd argue that symbol is of different material than leather that is used for cowl and cape and that it actually is black, but looks more like it is dark gray.

James Gordan died killed by a shark apparently. He didn't have a bat shark repellant with him.

The reason I believe the symbol isn't black is because in the original B&W photo, it's much much lighter than the cowel/cape/arms. Some may argue that the light is hitting it to make it look this way, but the light is also hitting the rest of the suit. In the original photo, the symbol looks like the same shade as the grey suit, but I'm hoping it's not the exact same color. When you take the pic I posted and make it black and white, the symbol is still way darker than the original B&W photo.

And I definitely agree the symbol is different material than the cape/cowl/suit. Maybe it acts as additional body armor for upper vital organs!

It's definitely not. It can be seen in SDCC poster I'm not allowed to post here that it's darker. I'm positive it is black, just not as black as cape and cowl, but more matte.

My thoughts exactly.

If you want batsymbol to have more practical sense that's the way to do it, as opposed to the stupid explanation of yellow oval having underarmor. :woot:

And it would make it different from Superman "S" heraldic shield too. I see that some people are bothered by the fact that both heroes have symbols on their chests and demand logical explanation. While I don't think it needs any, it does seem fitting for both characters to wear those things for different reasons - Superman proudly wears his knightly house of El coat of arms on his chest and Batman, having a tactical approach, simply wanted additional protection, but given his obsession with bat motif, couldn't resist to give it a slight bat shape when making the armor.

Also, given the size of the bat and the thickness of it, it does seem to be the case.

So, of the pictures we have of the trinity so for, who's costume is the favorite right now? Just curious.

Personally, they all look good from what I've seen, but Supermans is my favorite so far. Cavill looks monstrous! I'm still itching to see more of the Batsuit. I'm not sure what I think of Wonder Womans costume yet.

Oops. Sorry mate. Been away for a while. Thanks!

Also, why hasn't WB released the comicon posters yet? Should we expect to see them released soon?

We have 2/3. I don't expect the Batman pic to be released for a long time. I don't expect anything to be released for a long time. Hell I don't expect a trailer until AFTER the films release date.

The only movies of his that I can honestly say that I've seen all the way through are Taxi Driver,Mary Shelley's Frankenstein & Cape fear.
Highly recommend Taxi Driver.

I'm taking everyone's recommendations into consideration. I will be binge watching Robert De Niro films after my finals.

I haven't yet joined your self-appointed film tutors in this, but I would say that if you have yet to see The Godfather Pt II, that should be the top of your list,* regardless of Robert de Niro's presence in it.

* Obviously, you need to see Pt I first!
