I haven't yet joined your self-appointed film tutors in this, but I would say that if you have yet to see The Godfather Pt II, that should be the top of your list,* regardless of Robert de Niro's presence in it.

* Obviously, you need to see Pt I first!

Will do.

I second this.

And what about "Untouchables"? De Niro did great in the role of Al Capone.

The only movies of his that I can honestly say that I've seen all the way through are Taxi Driver,Mary Shelley's Frankenstein & Cape fear.
Highly recommend Taxi Driver.
How can people not see Godfather 1/2 or GoodFellas? I really dont get it.

Because not everyone are into mafia movies? :p

De Niro is one of my favorite actors ever.

Taxi Driver was dope. Casino is also a favorite of mine. I also highly recommend Deer Hunter.

Anyways, for this movie I'm really anxious about Supes and Bats facing off. I mean, after all thoes feats Superman achieved in MOS, how do they make this look like a good fight? Will Kryptonite be introduced? Batman in a powered suit alone wouldn't be able to stand up to the alien who destroyed the World Engine, a device that could shoot its way through the planet but couldn't shoot through a weakened Superman.

Or male-centric and violent movies.

I think we're all used to hanging around the same demographic, we forget there are people outside our circles with far different tastes in film.

:funny:
I had plenty of chances to.
My dad and brothers were obsessed with those movies when I was a kid,but they seemed like the most boring things in the world to me(I was like 6 or 7) so I just never gave them a chance.

Well said.

If youre interested in movies there is no reason to not to watch Godfather 1 & 2

Not interested in male-centric violent movies? sounds like 80% of comic book movies ever made.

I'm generally not into films that glorify the Mafia but regardless Goodfellas is one of my all time favourite films and I love Godfather 1 in particular.

I would tend to agree, were it not that my mother adores the first two Godfather movies. They are gripping, visually beautiful family dramas. They should appeal to all genders, in my opinion.

Why are we talking about Robert DeNiro?

The term "open discussion" is used quite loosely in this thread.

I mean we could say people want good actor AND bad actor DeNiro to play Commissioner Gordon or Harvey Bullock. :o

If a actor in his 70s is going to play Gordon, it should be Harvey Keitel.
