You lucky son of a ***** let me buy you a big kahuna burger.

Oh man, I watched Tusk tonight...that movie was exactly what I hoped it would be. I love the whole trip Kevin Smith on right now (which is basically just being a huge stoner that does whatever he wants). Go Kevin.

I liked bits of it but he just couldn't bloody decide on the tone for the movie. I didn't know if I was suppose to be laughing or cringing and that took me out of the movie.

I think he was going for complete **** for the tone. He achieved that really well. :barf:

Had chris nolan or some other highly respected director made tusk you'd have people raving about how brilliant the movie is, and how it so cleverly intertwined comedy with horror blah blah blah. I thought the movie was a welcome change of pace and an original piece, which most people whine about us not having enough of. You can't win. I applaud Kevin for doing something different. I thought the movie was great. I was entertained. Couldn't ask for much more

Honestly if that was the case, I would of probably hated it even more. :hehe:

To spite all of you Burton haters, I will now have an Edward Scissorhands avvy.

All I can say about Tusk is I definitely watched it with the right friend and in the right state of mind, so to speak lol. Not saying it was a masterpiece or anything, but I was thoroughly entertained. At times laughing hysterically, and at other times a little disturbed by what I was seeing. You could definitely hear the stoned giggles behind nearly every frame of the movie, but the fact that they even made the movie work half as well as it did was pretty impressive to me.

To sum it up, Tusk > Man of Steel.

If Chris Nolan made Tusk it would be completely different than if Darren Aronofsy made it, or Steven Spielberg made it, or Wong Kar Wai made it. I find the "if so and so made the film you would so and so..." incredibly dumb. If someone else made the picture it would be completely different. You cannot have one diretor's vision be made the same by another director.

Yup. me too. Returns is such an unique and great film.

Next thing we know, BatLobsterRises is going to be living on a street corner, shooting heroin in between his toes, and collecting pennies from strangers to try to go see BvS in 2016.

I hated Tusk. Personally I didn't find it funny or scary or interesting. Just a bunch of annoying characters I didn't care about giving boring monologues.

Kevin Smith is a superhero fan and like all of us likes to voice his opinion on superhero movies which is perfectly fine.

Kevin Smith says he is never going to direct a superhero film as he isn't the right guy to make one of those films. Smith finds the technical side of that stuff like filming action scenes tedious.

He's also never going to direct a superhero film because he's not that great of a filmmakers and will likely never be approached or allowed to direct one.

I like Kevin Smith, his 'Fatman on Batman' podcasts and a few of his earlier movies, Chasing Amy in particular, but I didn't like Tusk.

Justin Long and Michael Parks were great though.

I like Kevin when he is dissing people. But as far as offering any opinion or insight in upcoming or current superhero flicks, he is hardly any more stimulating than the common fanboy.

I like his fatman on Batman podcast too. My favorite episodes were the Grant Morrison and Paul Dini ones. I didn't like Tusk either but I guess I can see how some people enjoyed it.

His commentaries with Marc Bernardin are awesome. I hope they do one for Batman & Robin soon!
