Well needless to say, they're going to have to be very careful/smart with what they choose to release as the film's first promotional teaser. They can't slack off with the creation of this trailer as it's going to need to be edited/featured in a way that'll really make one hell of a first impression on people.

I know. my biggest fear its just a voiceover with very little ''money shots''.
IMO, there is NO need to kept bats and supes together under wraps.

I can't believe Furious 7 made over $140 million this weekend. I don't follow the franchise, so forgive me it that huge debut was painfully obvious to most (I thought it would hit Captain America numbers).

For me, this just proves how smart and sensible WB were in moving the release date to late March:

- Serious lack of competition
- A rebooted BATMAN
- 3D Premiums (something the Nolan movies never had)
- Two HUGE cultural icons coming together onscreen for the first time
- An insatiable appetite for comic-driven action adventure movies (certainly post-Oscar season).

is there anyone here who actually loves 3D?

So you don't think a teaser like the Man of Steel teaser would suffice ?

You mean the one where they had Pa Kent/Jor-el narrating? For a film like this? Probably not.

I think something that's put together in the same quality like "Man of Steel's" Comic Con trailer would be a good measuring stick for what the first "teaser" of this film should be like in my honest opinion.

The teaser (imho) really needs to sell the points that not only are Superman and Batman meeting for the first time in both cinematic and DCCU history, but that this is the start of the foundations for the eventual Justice League as well.

I doubt they would do that, but the thought of it scares me to death.

Yeah, the last thing that I want is for them to revert back to Chris Nolan's approach of teaser trailers where barely little to nothing is shown when it comes to footage for his teaser trailers (aka TDK and TDKR teasers)

A Force Awakens type teaser with a darker soundtrack could be money.

Personally, I prefer for films like this to use instrumental music for their teasers/trailers as opposed to using songs with lyrics (e.g. Watchmen, Avengers, etc)

The only people who like 3D are studio execs and the people who make 3D glasses.

The rest of humanity has to suffer the pain of having to double check to make sure their session is 2D, so they don't have to sit in a theatre forced to wear sunglasses in the dark so the film they paid to see isn't blurry.

I love the first teaser for Man of Steel, especially with the two versions.

The only problems I see are a 1) rebooted Batman - as some people aren't comfortable with there being a Batman movie so fast after the Nolan series, so to them, the onus is on Affleck and Snyder to prove themselves. 2) 3D premiums - I wish we had legit information of the difference between regular viewing $$ and 3D viewing $$, I can't imagine it's that significant, making me wonder why people are adding 3D as if it's a difference-maker. 3) Insatiable desire for CBMs - Not to start something, but with so many comic book movies being released annually, it makes me wonder when people will simply get tired of it.

InJustice, I think the rebooted Batman is the biggest uphill battle for this film project. I'm sure it will be different once people see it. But I always notice people immediately comparing it to Bales Batman and saying "Ben Affleck sucks, this movie is going to suck without Bale". It almost doesn't even bother me because people are so far from understanding how these things work. But we all know everyones going to see this anyways, and when they drive home that night, the most common remark will be "Christian who?"

I would be really mad at my biggest cinema if they don't have BvS in 2D, we don't have IMAX here but we have some pretty huge new screens... And like every theatre they don't love 2d (money) so 2d will probably be in eary afternoon :D I managed not to watch Hobbit in 48fps luckily but I watched digital 3d it wasn't bad but I really don't like 3d. Is Cineplex popular chain?

Are a lot of people still saying that "Affleck sucks" crap? I had a friend who was singing that tune for a while, but I convinced her that he might actually be really good. She loved MOS, so given that this is a sequel to that and MOS was well-cast, there is reason to believe that Affleck was cast because he can do the role justice. I also reminded her that he's been good, in fact VERY good in a number of recent films like The Town, Gone Girl and Argo.

I would compare the Affleck situation to RDJ originally being cast as Iron Man. People don't remember it now (or don't want to admit it) but when he was first announced, there were a lot of WTF? reactions. But ultimately that casting proved to be what really kicked the Marvel Cinematic Universe into high gear. Now, I'm not going to say that Affleck's casting will absolutely do that, but I think that if he's good in the role, that will be all that matters. The character of Batman is popular enough on his own that I think people will get on board with whoever is playing him unless the actor does an absolutely horrible job.

I dont really care for it, but I would prolly see BvS in 3D

Regular 2D for me. If the movie has a significant amount of IMAX footage, then I may consider it. So far, we only know the Waynes murder scene to be in IMAX and I'm definitely not paying deluxe prices to only see them get shot on a 80-foot screen. :o

But you'll actually see the bullet's this time. :o

For an extra 5 bucks why not? Especially with Snyder movies.

I like 3D. I have a 3D tv here at the house and have quite a collection of 3D movies and documentaries.

Oh and this is slightly off topic but fun if you're an Anne Hathaway fan

can't wait until Thursday to see the rest

When we get about 4-5 horrible ones in a row. And I mean they'll have to be stinkers.

I don't see that happening in the foreseeable future, so I don't think we have anything to worry about, as far as CBM go.

The date's not changing and I'm glad about it. Two DC films a year! I don't want that to change.

Y'all can endure the wait. I've been waiting since I was five years old for this film! :funny:

I'm all for two DC films a year. It's just I don't understand why they didn't start with releasing BvS this year, since that was doable. But yeah, once it hits, it'll be a DC smorgasbord.

And I've been waiting sinxe I was in the womb. :yay:

I'm going to disagree with you there. I'll bet a lot of the vfx are done. and a rough first edit has been made. there are still some tweaks to be made. some final sound effects, final edits, scoring the normal polishing but I'd almost bet the house that the major visual effects are near completion. it's been 4 months since they finished shooting. it was a very long shoot and I'd almost bet that the really heavy special effects stuff was shot early on and sent to the vfx guys to start work on. it's possible they've had almost a year already to have been working on some scenes.

Yeah, with the first cut done, a lot of post woul be complete. They might rearrange scenes and edit out footage and maybe shoot a new scene or two for story reason. But enough time has elapsed this movie could've released in
July of this year, as originally announced.

Sigh, the things that I would do in order to have access to this so that I could just skip this waiting...
