Most of them have no idea who's directing or writing

That's a good point actually, I don't think I have seen the director or screenwriter's name brought up in any article about the movie at all. It has been only about the costume.

I don't think the #'s matter, but the characters themselves. Maybe he implicitly confirmed Swamp Thing and the others beside Harley and WW to be in the cinematic universe.

Of course they're random. Yet when David Ayer post's a pic of Ostrander's run on Suicide Squad while he's writing the script no one say's anything and most presume the movie is a live action adaptation of Assault on Arkham animated movie.
