Yup. I actually think it would behoove the film to showcase as LITTLE of Batman as possible. Make the Batmobile his avatar if you will. Have it shown that the Batmobile shows up at the most inopportune time for the Squad. They keep trying to take it out, but can't, and just barely manage to escape... Only for the Batman driving the Batmobile to appear again! Make Batman a presence but only show up a little.

I'm actually curious to see if, whatever Batman's role in this film may end up being as, it'll give us another glimpse as to where he (and Superman) are at when it comes to forming the Justice League.

I mean could seeing the threat that an organized group like the Suicide Squad possess urge Batman to help make the Justice League even stronger?

No... I think it does say Captain... And I love it. I would love if Boomer is just this huge *****e that WANTS people to call him Captain Boomerang.

It's the perfect way to use the moniker without being too unexplained campy.
I love that I keep seeing new things in that image.
Went from "Well that's underwhelming." to "I can't want to see these guys in action!"

I'm actually curious to see if, whatever Batman's role in this film may end up being as, it'll give us another glimpse as to where he (and Superman) are at when it comes to forming the Justice League.

I mean could seeing the threat that an organized group like the Suicide Squad possess urge Batman to help make the Justice League even stronger?

See... More than ever looking at that SS reveal pic and... NOPE. I don't think any seeds for a threat to the JL are being laid in SS. That team, those villains... None are even collectively a threat to the power the JL as we know it's going to be membership-wise. I don't see any set up to Legion of Doom happening. The Squad is it's own thing and has it's own milieu, one which can accommodate Batman. But that is not the wellspring for a threat to the world or the world's greatest super heroes.

Can anyone tell me anything about El Diablo? The DC wiki only says the modern version was an ex-criminal and SS member.
In fact, all three versions, unless I read it wrong, aren't exactly villains.
Is he just a street level human dirtbag without any powers or specialties? (I assume that's not true)


Edit 1: Actually, scratch that. I'm just gonna be smart and search specifically for the New 52 details.

Edit 2: okay, firearms and pyrokinesis. But he's aligned as good. So between him, Katana and Flagg, that's 3 "good" characters on the SS.

It's a good point, they wouldn't, but it feels like such a dark and hard edged film, Ayer might be treading the fine line in this one.

That has nothing to do with DC hate. When GOTG was announced people asked the same question.

What I meant from the first point was that the public has become very pro-marvel. Not for nothing of course, but the public gave some lee-way to the unknowns of the GOTG due to the MCU's track record from before.

Here the SS at this point is coming along for the DCCU on the track record of MoS, which was wasn't as embraced overall.

True. Frankly, I think the only reasons why Batman is even appearing in that film is because of Joker and Harley being in it.

The amount of crow eating and egg on face was glorious to behold.

People especially fan-boys do like to ***** and moan before something is released but I'm not talking fan-boys here more general public.

Most of the AoU **** talking is coming from the comic fan community WW the movie is doing pretty well.

I was just giving my view on how the public seemed to be reacting to GoTG vs SS (that included the Joker tease) as the two are pretty comparable not very well-known properties.

It's just that DC/WB is going to have to work harder than marvel to sell this product to the masses. Tons of people were going about how they had no idea who GotG were but gave the benefit of the doubt just because they were part of the MCU.

That's a great point that I didn't think of.
Quicksilver's reveal was not great and I think received the same critiques SS is.
One I've been hearing is they look like cosplay.

And people ended up loving Quicksilver.
So...yeah...we'll see...
