Goyer wasn't fired. He's still in charge of screenplay. Terrio does the script, though. Just like BvS is still Goyer's story.

Yes and No. The basic story is what Goyer and Snyder conceived, but reports made it seem clear that all other work that Goyer did was thrown out.

Was he? Was he "fired"? Or, is he probably still waist deep in the development of the DCCU in ways none of us can ever know?

Nah, he was straight up fired. It would seem Warners (or at least Affleck) got wise to what was wrong with MOS and, to an extent, The Dark Knight Trilogy.

Anyone see Halt and Catch Fire this week? Scoot McNairy's character kept making references to Superman, Lois Lane and Zod. I have to think that was intentional. :D

This "firing" issue and the "reports" of Ben being the one behind it sound like the usual fan projection and bovine excrement. Look... I am betting no one said Goyer was "fired" from THE DARK KNIGHT and I am guessing his role in BvS will be akin to his role there. But once again someone has to "pay" for the "sin" that was MOS. Some want Henry's Superman to pay some how in story. Others want Goyer and Snyder to reap some kind of "penance" or "punishment".

It very well could be that it's as some say, but it's far from a fact, and I am guessing the credits and the media push we get in the build up to release will tell the true tale. If Goyer is interviewed for BTS stuff, magazine articles thenI am guessing this is the usual fan nonsense. I am betting that Goyer will have some involvement in all the DCCU films, helping to shape them in ways that please the fans (Including aspects of long established mythology and use of canon characters ect). The very group always piling on him. Cest la vie.

I'm not going to full on, 100% believe it, of course, but I'll note it and put it in the back of my mind (as with most Eh Maybe "scoops").

they liked Goyer for his big ideas and masterful plotting but wanted someone else to write the script and specifically the dialogue, because that was Goyer's weak spot. Wouldn't surprise me at all if Goyer is still a story consultant for the entire DCCU.

yeah saw that. also did everyone see the new scoop over at HH? The rumor is that Aquaman has been captured and is being kept in a tank somewhere and Lex knows about it

I think Goyer gets a bit overcredited for being a "great idea man", but among the group of Zack/Debbie Snyder, Terrio, Affleck, Roven, etc, I'm thinking he's the only hardcore superhero comics fan, having even written them. As off-key as his Superman was, I still think these stories need a "guardian" with some knowledge of history to keep things in course and liberties in check. For me it's more comforting to have him on board than not.

Hopefully we get a nod to the iconic imagery of Splash and Splash 2.

Goyer lost some popularity with some DC fans from the MM comments, whether arguably joking or not. :o

Guys, the thirst is returning.....Comic Con needs to get here ASAP.

The intrigue and lovable traits of Bruce/Batman were dramatically lowered in the sequels once his position was put on the bench.

Everyone hates Goyer online, but I've appreciated his contributions.

The rumor about the Flash cameo is so basic... Surely they could do better than that if it's the actual plan.

I know. I feel like it is so far away even though it is less than a month away.

I'm just going through old MoS threads these days, trying to leach as much as hype as possible from those times. Every time I think of BvS though, the thirst starts slowly creeping back up.

Don't see why a cameo needs to be extravagant.

How much do you want to bet that if this turns out to be true, some "Marvel rocks/DC sucks" trolls will pop up here and tell us all how lame these cameos are, and that WB should have bigger lead-ins for their characters (conveniently forgetting that the only lead-in Thor got was a shot of his hammer at the end of Iron Man 2, and all Cap got was his shield appearing in the same movie).

Pretty sure script and screenplay are the same.

Goyer and Snyder came up with the story but the script is by Terrio. It's his name mentioned in press releases and interviews.

Not saying Goyer was fired but he obviously is not as involved.

Story & Screenplay are two different things in terms of development, narrative and a working platform from which to make a film.

I don't care for trolls. I also don't mid these cameos. Eh. EHmaybe has changed his tune though, he went from talking about reading the script to now having found out about these cameos. Laawd.
