If WB was that excited about JLD, then they would have moved forward without GDT. There has been absolutely no movement on the project to suggest that they are aiming for a fall production.

Yeah, JLD shouldn't be an immediate priority but it's nice to know they have confidence in the script by DelToro and I'm sure he'll get an exec producer credit. Maybe Story credit too.

It would be nice if they still got him to direct it, who knows managers have come back onto projects they've left so maybe this will be one of those.

I can't see any of the comments for some reason. Oh well.

It's not very exciting lol

I did a screen grab

I imagine JLD's greenlit won't happen until WB sees how Suicide Squad does first but they have the A list heroes to have films first before they can greenlit slightly less known properties like JLD. I would like to see perhaps John Constantine or Zantana appear in either a Justice League film or perhaps one of the solo films like Batman for example.

They weren't that far into it any way. Del Toro was working on a script for the last couple of years and he got someone in to make a few tweaks before sending it over to WB. That's where we are at now.

Thing is will Suicide Swuad even give them the confidence to go with JL Dark considering it has the Joker and Batman (even if it is only a cameo) in it. They may feel the need to make a big hero cameo or play a bit part in JLD.

IMO, mind control and clones are very stupid and lazy plot devices, and quite frankly, I see absolutely no evidence to support either theory in anything we've seen so far. The only reasons I can see any evidence for the conflict are based on nothing more than misunderstandings between Bruce and Clark about what the other hero is, something I bet that will be exploited by Lex to exacerbate things between the two. No explanation more fantastic than that is needed.

Agreed. I also don't care for Lex creating Doomsday either.

WB wants to shoot JLD later this year?!

So, JLD is indeed happening? :woo:

The interview:

Indeed, nothing about shooting this year. Only that WB really wants to green-light the movie.
Oh, right, the bit about shooting this year must have been a mistaken interpretation by one of the entertainment news sites. My apologies for passing that along. If Pacific Rim 2 stays on track for its announced release date it would shoot next year.

I'm shocked Pacific Rim 2 is even happening. Never mind the middling reception it got. Domestically it barely did over half of its budget. I can't think of the last film which got another opportunity to redeem itself after a subpar performance like that.

Thomas Tull, the head of Legendary Pictures, apparently really believes in Pacific Rim as a franchise, despite its domestic under-performance. He took the property over to Universal when Legendary split from WB.

I think the success in China was the key to a sequel, Legendary is funding it so for Universal, it won't be much of a loss if it doesn't do well.

Man, that guy looks like an ass. I love how he invokes the infamous internet call-out of "well you wouldn't say that if you weren't behind a screen" BS, while actually being the only one in the exchange to use the sorta tone that, IRL, would probably get you punched out. :woot:

Hm. Well personally I don't think it's right to direct any criticism of any kind at a site owner on their own site. Ya wanna criticize him, do it some place else. It's his site. He can say what he wants, how he wants, when he wants. You don't like it, don't respond to it.

My two cents.

What if we are looking at that whole scene the wrong way? What if Luthor or someone does try something but Superman stops it?

That is what I think. I think people are accepting the signal jammer nonsense because they want to believe Superman goes rogue almost as a justification for batman going nuts and wanting to fight him.

I actually wouldnt be surprised if Mercy triggers a bomb that blows up the Senate and Superman saves a few but not all of the people.

They're not going to tease a movie that hasn't been confirmed yet in a trailer for a movie coming out in 8 months.:funny:

They did confirm it. WB tweeted out that Batman and Superman sequels are planned and will release before 2020.

They tweeted it on the same day the other films were announced last year.

The last time Superman went rogue in the movies, we got this.

Where else do you direct criticism or disagreements? Call him up on the phone? Spread it over 4-Chan? Or are we supposed to just talk behind their backs like gossiping teen girls. A site owner should be able to take criticism, right or wrong, on his site without getting defensive. It comes with the territory.

Yes I know that but other than us knowing about a solo sequel we don't know anything else about it. They're not going to tease that in a trailer for BvS are they? Because that has nothing to do with BVS.

Heck we don't even know what story they will tell and who will be in it.

Agreed, well said.

Like I said, I disagree. IMO, criticism of a site owner should be made elsewhere.
