I just re-watched the honest trailer on Youtube for Man of Steel.

And apparently I'm not the only one who thinks Man of Steel had too many SUBPLOTS...
10,000 people...some other source said that but maybe they were wrong, later I found out that it was actually just around 5000 people that died in Metropolis. Ideally there aim in Man of Steel was to make Superman a hero, but it's not a matter of Superman failing to save 5000 people--I wouldn't blame a superhero for not being able to save everyone because they can't, even with all there power--it's just that all those people die. I didn't like that. That many people shouldn't die in a Superman movie. Superman did save the entire planet but at least 5000 people died in Metropolis.
No one reportedly died in the Avengers New York battle. They just don't mention it.
And I know in the CR movies, people actually did die. But all those people die in Man of Steel, and while Superman was on the other side of the Earth trying to stop the World Engine, there's still a problem with that whole situation. Yes he's trying to put it to and end once and for all, but in the process, innocent people are getting killed. That's to blame Snyder and Goyer I think.
I think if it was Christopher Reeve's Superman, he'd go to Metropolis first while the destruction was taking place and try to remove all the people away from the center point as quickly as possible and than head over to the Indian ocean. Because it's Superman, and for Superman, the people always come first.
