BvS All Things Batman v Superman: An Open Discussion - - Part 246

Regarding the supposed extra surprises, having read the tie-in comics I'm wondering if the "Superman in a geopolitical context" thing wouldn't play a role bigger than just being a quick summation of opinions by talk show hosts, or sth similar. It's a stretch, but maybe Lex's big manipulation -- the thing that drives Batman into attack mode -- could revolve around Superman's actions in a foreign country, a benevolent intervention in the name of helping people... which Lex stages as a violent coup that kills oppressors but also causes civilian casualties (maybe regime supporters), which makes Supes effectively look like a tyrant wannabe. Batman needs a better motivation than just the events of MOS and the "he's too powerful and I'm paranoid" excuse, which works well for trailers but limits his intelligence big time. I'm thinking, and I've read similar theories before, there might be an entire subplot, hitherto left under wraps, that links all that stuff together.

Superman is blamed for what ever happens during that senate meeting. Batman takes action. There.

I never liked that gif. Something about it makes me really uncomfortable.

It's a little too realistic looking, maybe. Like if it was real that would be cold as hell.

Maybe it just seems incongruous for Charlie Murphy. I like the Charlie Murphy from the Dave Chapell Show. His stories were hilarious. (That is Charlie Murphy, right?)

We don't even know for sure what the greatest lie in America is.

Haha maybe it's his version of "Wanna know how I got these scars?"

It'd be fun to see what Batman would've done if he was in MoS Clark's shoes.

The only controversial thing about the movie is Clark's existence on earth (and activate that ship) caused Zod's coming later on.

So basically all those destruction happened because that. If he wasn't pushing it like Kevin Costner advised none of those deaths would not happen.

Even though Superman saved the planet, he was the reason for it's destruction as well.

In a way, people aren't entirely wrong about blaming Superman and Batman has a point to kick his ass.

We don't know whether BvS has shown too much until we have actually seen it.

Also it may turn out that the reveal of Doomsday is more satisfying dramatically in the context of a trailer. Kinda like the after credits scene, the camera spins around and "HOLY CRAP IT'S THANOS!" In the movie, maybe Lex is experimenting, you know he's creating something, you see the transformation, you've got a pretty good idea it's coming, and then "Hey it's Doomsday, I figured that was coming" compared to the trailer buildup, the screen goes black, you hear that roar, and "HOLY CRAP IT'S DOOMSDAY!"

I mean, when you think about it, an after credits scene is pretty much a trailer, a quick 30 second clip meant to excite you about the next film, but nobody's moaning about them spoiling Thanos

That's a good point. I mean, he really didn't have any right to go messing around, activating something like that, without putting any thought into possible consequences. It's an understandable mistake considering his circumstances, but even still, it was pretty damn irresponsible.

That's not saying Batman has a right to destroy him, but I think people are justified in being pissed at him and holding him accountable

Anyone up for a trip to Gotham or Metropolis?

I sort of imagine if the government and scientists had Clark's key that they would have seen what it did as well.

1. Honestly, there's no way that Clark could have foreseen the likes of Zod and the Black Zero incident coming about from just activating the old scout ship.

2. Even if Clark didn't activate the ship, there's still a chance that Zod and his crew would have eventually made their way to Earth.

When in MoS does the beacon from the scout ship get triggered? Was Jor-El activated before that happens? But then again, even if so, I suppose there was no way for Jor-El to know that Zod and his soldiers had escaped the Phantom Zone.

The moment the key was completely inserted.

Check Twitter and Reddit.
Nah. I don't buy it. Too much guitar. Not epic enough.

But then again- Junkie. Still not buying it. Generic Zimmerman drums. If it ends up being real, then that's a disappointing track by itself.

Awesome track, however this worries me, what if the entire movie leaks before it releases? kinda like how the Expendables 3 leaked a few weeks before release some time back, it hurt the hell out of its box office, i'll be damn if the same thing happens to BvS too.

Leaks in the Music Tracks is one thing but considering the high level of security that was involved with the making of the film itself, I seriously doubt that this film will leak online prior to its release date.

The ending of the track is nice.

Overall. Meh. If it's real, then I hope to god that they make it work.
