I´m sorry to say this but the movie is going to flop. Box office-wise it will do very well but the movie won´t grade high I´m afraid. Also, I agree with the one saying it looks a bit dull and dark. Same thing with MOS.

Btw, what´s up with the trailer soundtrack? I really hope this type of music doesn´t end up in the movie...

Drew is a good guy and a good reporter. I've been reading him for a long time, dating back to his days at AICN.

He's also the guy who said WB had a "No jokes" policy and no plan and BvS was going to be split into two parts.

So a trailer drops. People are excited and then suddenly this interview drops to tell us all that BvS is a steaming pile of poop. And that only Ben and Lex are good. And they chat about can they use Lex in Batman movies. Really nice timing
He posted on Twitter last week that there is a movie coming out very soon that will cause the fandom to break in half and is dreading it.

I'm guessing BvS is that movie.

It's not so much that as it is that the trailers haven't really sold Superman to the general audience. We've gotten bits and pieces of Clark mostly, but not much from Superman outside of his conflict with Batman. For example, the CW special showed a snippet of Superman's conversation with Lois about his inability to do good in a satisfying way, preceding the scene where Lois reminds him that Superman gives hope to people. From set pics, we know that Superman has other scenes with Lois, including one that mirrors Donner. Show that! Get the detractors on board! Selling Batman is great, and I think it has and will work. But they could also sell Superman a bit more, especially for these critics that can't let Donner's take go.

I get you there, but it's the norm for sequels to show more of the antagonist or villain.

Something tells me the discussion around this movie isn't the only thing making this deep breather sweat.

Holy crap!

That trailer blew my mind!

What's wrong with you people?!

So two people from the same site are pushing the "BvS sucks" narrative. The mouth breather wrote an article basically saying WB isn't Donnerish or MCU like enough. One more clickbait article and it ceases to be coincidence and it becomes a pattern.

But there has been plenty of trailers. There should be more Superman by now. I wouldn't be too worried if not for Snyder's own words.

Then ignore them, it's hardly worth it to spend your time dwelling on things you don't like.

This trailer got me hyped, but I am very worried about the possibility of the movie receiving negative reviews. I just have this feeling that once again, Marvel will win with Civil War while the hatred on DC continues. I want both comicbook properties to be a success by the way. I understand that at the end of the day my own opinion counts, but it still feels good to like a film that is well-received by others. Like most people that I am around are only anticipated to see Marvel films. It is hard to express my interest DC without having folks speak negatively of its films.

Snyder's own words were that the movie starts off with Batman (Zod's fight from Bruce's POV and the death of his family), which is expected since he's the new character and needs introduction and then it evens out. Batman and Superman get equal screen time. And don't forget that the whole story is basically about Superman.

Agree with what Drew is saying or not, he isn't wrong about the lack of a master vision. This looks great to me, but if it ends up not working, they don't know what they are going to do.

It does feel like clickbait, especially doing a video for it. To be fair, he didn't say it sucks, just that he "hears" (emphasis on that verb) that WB is worried and nervous about the film.

There has been an incredible amount of vitriol against BvS ever since it was announced, then when Ben was cast, I think it goes with the territory, many people are putting it under the looking glass and eagerly await any sign of weakness to pounce on it.

This is the mentality of today's critical world, Marvel films have a lot of good faith attached to them, because they were first, because they laid the groundwork, because having a lighter, fun tone is easier to embrace than a more serious, realistic approach, and in comparison, whatever DC does will probably always be perceived as lesser by many cynical people, because they thrive on that.

Drew loves MOS, and yet, I cannot believe what he's doing here, he knows what doing this kind of thing will do, I don't know what his agenda is here, but you don't report this stuff unless you want clicks and attention on you.

I hope this is the case, but if it is more even after the first 10-15mins, that doesn't make the film even. I am all about Batman's response to Superman. But it must be shown equally from both sides imo.
