I just had a thought, what if the special preview screening for fans is the Rated-R cut? WB wouldn't be bound by MPAA limitations because it's technically not a conventionally released film. But someone who knows the rules better should chime in.

There's a special preview screening? When?

I dont think this has anything to do with Deadpool, it's not even a reaction to it.

It clearly says 9/30/2015 which is either the date when the edited version was submitted or when they reviewed it.

The rating even clearly says "WARNER HOME ENTERTAINMENT". The Blu-Ray release (and one specific release) is Rated-R. All the rest, including the theatrical release are PG-13.

Fans that went to the IMAX event a couple months back got passes to an early screening of the film. A week in advance, I believe.

Now we just need the run time for the Ultimate edition

Nerfing a character's canon power levels to make others more valuable is the sign of a bad writer and needs to be avoided in the DCF.

Indeed. That's one of the few things I hated about DCAU.

Is anyone here going to the early screening? I'm going to be rabid for spoilers right about that time.

I'm guessing the R-Rated cut will simply have blood, whereas PG-13 films (a la TDK) are virtually bloodless.

I've seen plenty of blood in other PG-13 films. Pretty sure that was Nolan's doing.

Batman: do you bleed? You will.

Superman: only in the R-rated director's cut.

Surprised to see how many people are giving this a negative spin lol. Typical. Will def buy that R version blu ray. Want to see Batman go off like the comics.

I'm trying to hold out until mid-March. Then off to the JL/WW/SS boards I go.

And so help me God, if any of you post spoilers in those sections.

I plan to do the same thing.

It's only the Director's Cut.

There isn't a snowball's chance in hell they put out an R-rated Batman and Superman film in theaters. Not for the initial release, anyway.

You make it sound like an R rated cut in a movie about Superman isn't ****ing ridiculous in and of itself. Theatrical cut or not. When I think of Superman I don't even entertain the notion of an R rating with him. Gee, how uplifting. To even cut something down in the first place from what it originally was, what does that say about the PG-13 cut then? Jesus Christ.

Now having just seen that date it was installed, I guess I'm wrong about the Deadpool thing. Still doesn't excuse WB for feeding more into the super dark tone of things for a goddamn Superman film. I think the tone of this film is the most like that first trailer now.

Whoa!!!! This shocked me. Crazy news. This has Joker written all over it. Bring it on!

I don't know how I'm gonna do it but I'm also gonna try to go dark on the internet front

Can't risk spoilers

You seem to be ignoring the Batman portion of this production.

You seem to think R rated films can't be uplifting and you don't seem to understand that films are regularly cut down for a theatrical release. Not sure there's any use arguing these points with you.

I read a Superman comic where a dude blew his brains out with a shotgun, with a crater in his head. How come people only care when the same violence happens in movies?
