Im loving this Mad Max taking over
Me too. I love this movie.

This Mad Max sweep is getting ridiculous. :funny:

WB studio heads are drafting up 6 different contracts for George, right now. Give this guy the DCEU!

seriously, idc what zack snyder wants or not, get me George Miller for mos2

Idk I hated that Wonder Woman Miller came up with
It's hard to compete with the look and cast Snyder came up with. I look at it as the best of both worlds, as Snyder's the better comic lore adapter, but Miller's the far superior film director.

I want to wait and see how BvS turns out. If it's truly exceptional then we know it's just a matter of getting the right scriptwriters.

but thats the thing, he doesn't have to. Everything is already set up for him to play with.

A film is more than a sum of a screenplay and competent direction. The Oscars sweep that is happening before our very eyes is a testament to this. George clearly has a better handle on every aspect of a film, which cannot be confidently said for Zack right now.

So BvS might end up being a triumph, but think of how "better" it can be under George's hands. After all, the script he was working with wasn't particularly outstanding or special in any way.

Or maybe it would not have been better at all. Mad Max was pretty much a labor of love for Miller. Don't expect this from him every time.

It's amazing how much world building Miller did w/o bogging the story with excess exposition

True enough, but this isn't a work-for-hire job for Miller. He's already been quoted as having been a comic book reader in his younger days, and his understanding of superheroes as modern myths. I'm more than confident in his abilities to bring the world to life.

Oh, really?

“To make a great film you need three things – the script, the script and the script.”-Hitchcock-Vertigo/Psycho

“[Making movies is] 80% script and 20% getting great actors. There’s nothing else to it.” – William Wyler-Ben Hur

“The script is what you’ve dreamed up–this is what it should be. The film is what you end up with.” -Lucas-Star Wars

“There’s nothing more important in making movies than the screenplay.” – Richard Attenborough-GHANDI

“Once you crack the script, everything else follows.” – Ridley Scott-Blade Runner/Gladiator

You seem to have confused "scripts are the backbone of a film" with "scripts are what dictates the quality of a movie".

Those are simply opinion pieces from some of the big named directors. That doesn't mean what they say is absolute truth. Jason Fuch's script for Pan was blacklisted, and the film still came out poorly. Film's are a collaborative process. The script may be an most important element, but it's not the only component.

Of course there is, but IF there has been a central fault of Snyder's films, it has come down to the script more often than not. I don't mean dialogue, I mean the story itself, which is the substance of a film.

Again, I'll wait for BvS to see whether or not the script makes all the difference.

But even if Miller were a better choice, I doubt he'd take it. Didn't he say he wanted to just do small stuff and take a break from the big stuff?
