While fans still have exactly three weeks until Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters, Warner Bros. has already screened the movie for a select group of people, many of whom say that Ben Affleck knocks it out of the park as the new Batman. Last year, there was a report that Warner Bros. was so impressed with his work as The Dark Knight, that they brought him aboard to star in and direct an Untitled Batman Reboot. While the studio hasn't officially confirmed that the project has a green light, Entertainment Weekly recently spoke to Ben Affleck, who confirmed the project is in development, but it may not be happening anytime soon.

The original report about this reboot came after Warner Bros. screened a "near finished cut" of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice for the film's crew and studio executives, which was reportedly met with a standing ovation once the credits rolled. This report claims the studio was so impressed with Ben Affleck's performance that they are working out an extended deal with the actor that would lock him in as Batman "for the next 10 years or so." Studio executives reportedly consider the actor as "the definitive Batman," and plan on centering their entire DC movie universe around his character.

It isn't known at this point if Ben Affleck will also write and direct the other movies in this trilogy, but the initial report revealed that the actor/filmmaker was working on the screenplay with DC's Geoff Johns. A few months after Batman v Superman hits theaters, the actor will return as Bruce Wayne/Batman in Suicide Squad, set for release on August 5, 2016. After that, he will appear in Justice League Part 1 and Justice League Part 2, which are set for release in 2017 and 2019, respectively.

Ben Affleck also stars in Warner Bros. Live by Night alongside Zoe Saldana, Sienna Miller and Elle Fanning. The movie was originally set to be released this October, but the studio pushed it to 2017. If this Untitled Batman Reboot does move forward, it isn't quite clear where it may land on Warner Bros.' release calendar, which is already jam-packed with 10 superhero movies coming out within the next four years.

I wrote a post on the Dan Amboyer's instagram. "You are not Hal Jordan :( " after that he deleted that post guys. I'm confused

Dan Amboyer sucks, he just tried tricking people to get attention

Nothing to be confused about. Official word is no Gl until JL 2 at the earliest. He deleted it because he doesn't want the truth on the page, but the gigs up now.

Rotten Tomatoes is a great site. People just use the info on there selectively or incorrectly.

The tomatometer is just the percentage of critics who gave a positive review to the movie. The more accurate way to gauge the quality of the movie (as far as you even can quantify something that is completely subjective) is the average rating which, though far less cited, is right there under the tomatometer score.

You can have situations where a movie can be 'rotten' and still have a higher average rating than 'fresh' movies. Man of Steel is 56% on the tomatometer with a 6.2 average rating. Thor: The Dark World is at 66% but has the same exact 6.2 average rating.

Mostly, Rotten Tomatoes' value is as an aggregator where you can find a large selection of critics' opinions about a movie. Reading through the blurbs is a great way to see how people who watch a lot of movies feel about certain films. While a website that distills critical opinion down to a binary pass or fail percentage is fun for discussion and can help inform your movie choices, it's not the ultimate arbiter of whether a movie is good or not.

I figure WB will do everything in their power to get Affleck on board to direct the solo.

I'd honestly be surprised if it isn't his next film.

One thing I didn't see people talking here was the face that EW confirmed we are not seeing any armoured Lex in BvS.

Don't start the Marvel vs DC **** in here.

That wasn't my point but you know, I just can't figured it out. That scene was nonsense but just cuz of it's funny, ppl saying epic scene. It's not even funny for me but ppl likes this kinda comedy I suppose.

Batfleck will direct the solo film, I just think he's focused on finishing his other film first. After that they'll talk about it.

It has nothing to do with BvS, it's a marvel thing. Go discuss it in the Thor TDW forums. Just looks like you are gonna start a DC vs Marvel.

Guys, I figured out who Jenna Malone is---- Rachel Dawes!! Snyder continuing his tradition of changing brunettes to red heads and vice versa. Nolan homage.

Nah, she's playing Alfred's plucky niece, who figures out Bruce's secret and convinces him to train her to be a sidekick.

Wow, so many frequent regular visitors have skipped out of this forum leading up to release. I admit I've been staying clear as well as of late :o Everyone has their ticket by now and we are just waiting it out :D

I like Bats almost as much as Supes, but putting him front and center? **** that. Supes is the Leader; Bats is the Lancer.

That's like saying "**** Luke Skywalker, let's make the story revolve around Han Solo."

I'm not feeling this story/scoop at all.

Batman isn't just the "lancer", he's the ****ing general. He's the resident strategist.

This is why Batman fans are always skeptical of Batman as a member of the JLA. He typically prefers to work alone, and what partnerships he does have, he enters them grudgingly.

It's hard to imagine Batman ever fighting with the JLA unless he absolutely has to.

Another thing is that Batman being the leader was always interesting because its his leadership qualities that make him vital in battles with villains he can't physically battle himself. It's the same with Captain America. Caps isn't really of much use against a foe like Ultron, so it's his leadership qualities that make him something besides a guy who just stands around.
