My contention was since Batman works in the shadows and stays on the down low worth morally questionable methods, he can't inspire the public of the in universe as Superman who works in the light, has a face, an image and something people can latch onto. So in universe it makes sense for him to lead. Moses wasn't a King, Ramses was. But guess who was the more natural and the better leader?
But in our reality, we know so much about the mythology and motivations of these characters so we can choose which one appeals to ua. Which is your argument I take it!

The best way to write Supes in IMO is give him issues that mirror our own with fictional liberties. That way you can offer some solid social commentary whIle testing his morality and pushing his ethics.
