I know someone who saw the movie last night, Sandy Collora (the guy who did the Batman vs Predator short film).

The early reactions are likely to be really over the top, we'll need things to settle for a few days before anything vaguely "accurate" or reasonable comes out.

Why is it not reasonable for fans of DC comics to come out and say they loved the movie?

Sure, these are going to skew positive because they're fans but it doesn't discount their claims.

For those that don't understand the "two thumbs up"...

It's from Siskel and Ebert. Two thumbs up was the best they'd give a movie, meaning both critics liked the movie.

Ebert and Chicago Tribune critic Gene Siskel helped popularize nationally-televised film reviewing when they co-hosted the PBS show Sneak Previews, followed by several variously-named At the Movies programs. The two verbally sparred and traded humorous barbs while discussing films. They created and trademarked the phrase "Two Thumbs Up," used when both hosts gave the same film a positive review. After Siskel died in 1999, Ebert continued hosting the show with various co-hosts and then, starting in 2000, with Richard Roeper.

Another reaction

Just had one of my younger friends say "2/5" isn't good in regards to the two thumbs up tweet.

Today's youth...sometimes...I don't know.

Two thumbs up doesn't mean two out of 5. Two thumbs up means consistently good :)

^ The poor youth :(

What... you didn't know that people have five thumbs?

To be fair, I wouldn't say it's just today's youth, idiots have been a constant for as long as there's been intelligent life.

Youths actually believe a human being has five thumbs?

Too true. I shouldn't be ageist.

I understand not getting the Siskel and Ebert reference but to actually think it meant two out of five?

Like, what?

In ancient Rome any sort of extended thumb meant "kill the gladiator." Don't know what to believe.

just wait for the reactions to the first person who said they didnt like it lol.
