3D yes just not 3D IMAX. The trailer in 3D looked really good

However, BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE Director Zack Snyder has recently advised that the presentation of this movie in IMAX theatre locations with giant IMAX screens AND the new next-generation IMAX Laser projection system, is superior in IMAX 2D.

Unfortunately not in all theaters, just IMAX Laser and 70mm screens based on what you have received. These are also the same screens where the picture will fill the entire screen.

Liemax screens and the non IMAX-Laser and non IMAX-70mm will still be in 3D.

Just got a weird email from IMAX saying that Zack Snyder has advised that the film is better in 2D IMAX than in 3D so no IMAX theatre will be showing 3D.

To be fair, 3D is a garbage format. Probably shouldn't have even did a 3D conversion if IMAX is saying it's better in 2D.

It's funny how I'm here looking forward to BvS and the DCEU version of Superman continuing on, and at the same time, I'm listening to a podcast with Alfred Gough talking about his work on Smallville, and going through and remembering the show starting from Season 1 and going up to the end.

Well, I just got back. Had to rush to workplace to grab papers. I came back home and my GF was complaining about my phone kept on dinging since its getting tons of email notifications of private messages from BOT.

I mean, I can understand people eager enough to wanting to register on forums and ask questions. Though this is to all newcomers, this is a forum focused on box office grosses of movies. We do discuss movies and TV shows as well.

Give me a few hours to sort out some late night work then I can go through some of the earlier pages. Seriously though, I think credit should go to Terrio.

As you know, BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE opens worldwide on March 24. As with other blockbusters of this nature, it was communicated to us, and in turn to you, our fans, that this title would only be available to us as an IMAX 3D presentation.
However, BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE Director Zack Snyder has recently advised that the presentation of this movie in IMAX theatre locations with giant IMAX screens AND the new next-generation IMAX Laser projection system, is superior in IMAX 2D.
We have now been informed that it is the expressed wish of Director Zack Snyder that we screen this title in IMAX 2D only, and we have been asked to respect this creative direction and present BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE in the way that he has intended it be seen.
A major part of Zack Snyder’s decision is because he has captured several sequences of BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE with IMAX’s extremely high-resolution cameras. These sequences will expand vertically to fill the entire height (23m) of the IMAX Melbourne screen. IMAX Melbourne is one of only two theatres in Australia that will be able to show these sequences in this manner.
It is regretful that we were only informed of this in the last few days and we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

I still remember anticipating the finale and finally seeing Superman, and then the show gypped us all and never showed Welling in the actual suit.

That is one decision I will never get, the fans waited 10 years for that shot, the least they could have done was have one shot of Welling in the suit just to satisfy the fans who stayed with the show from the beginning.

Not all IMAX screenings, if your local IMAX is not IMAX Laser, it won't make a difference and it will just be in IMAX 3D as normal. Very few IMAX theaters in the US have IMAX Laser and those that do are already showing it in IMAX 2D.

Funny enough, Gough mentioned this and revealed what Steve Younis had revealed too which was Welling was contracted to never appear in the suit. So the CGI Superman was the loophole to having the suit and flying on the show, without Welling actually wearing it.

P.S. I've accepted that, so it doesn't bother me. Then again, it didn't back in 2011. Also, it's funny that this was Welling's guideline for Smallville, yet he is open to appear (as Superman(?)) on Supergirl. "shrugs"

Well, I think we knew that was going to happen if this movie is great.

I'm hoping this all means that the proposed GLC story arc is so epic, it needs to be told away from the constraints of JL1. If it opens the door for a legitimate, self-sufficient DCEU Cosmic branch, I'm all for it.

My IMAX theater has a legit screen (we got TDK prologue in front of I Am Legend, TDKR prologue in front of MI:GP...) so I really hope they're affected by this change.
