Civil War Along Came a Spider - The Peter Parker / Spider-Man Thread - Part 1

If Peter is 15 his parents could be around 45 right? Assuming they had him around 30? It makes sense that Aunt May would be around 45 too. I don't see why Tomei is an issue, it's totally believable in my books.

Exactly and ya'll do realize that most siblings aren't the same age? Or even 2 or 3 years apart. Me for instance, I have a two sisters, one is 4 years older, the other 7.

Spider-Man stole the show in terms of action and quips. Not quite ready to anoint this "Best Spider-Man ever" though. I think some of those reactions are somewhat hyperbolic.

I was hoping for a bit more of a political element to his recruitment, though.

Tony apparently just sort of needed a fighter who could provide cool visuals. I dunno...wasn't feeling the reason for actually being involved.

I did like the Brooklyn/Queens moment, and the Spider-Signal nod.

Marisa looked WAY younger in some shots than in others. Weird.

What song was he listening to when he first shows up?

I also dig that he lives in an apartment. I dunno, might be wrong but it just seemed to fit more with how Peter's and May's economical standing is than a house. Different from the norm, but - it felt real.

That was Spider-man. That was the character I've been dying to see for years. I've always felt both efforts were lacking in certain areas, but this one had it all. Obviously there wasn't a lot to him, but what was there was pitch perfect.

Everyone is used to the icon silver hair aunt in her 60's but considering Peter is 15, having an aunt no older than her late 40's early 50's makes sense.

Although, technically, Peter's mum could have been in her late 30's early 40's when Peter was born and her sister being 10-15 years older than her, putting Peter's aunt in her 60's when Peter hits 15.

I felt Toby's Spider-Man was off and Andrew's Peter was off (too hipster) but the blend in CW was pretty much perfect. But we are talking about a cameo not a full movie.

Best Spider-Man EVER.

Funny enough, I was so caught up in the movie I actually forgot about him. When they cut to that establishing shot of NY, I was like, "Who is Stark visiting in Queens?". Lol.

i liked holland it will be interesting seeing his portrayal in his upcoming solo flick. but it was sad knowing that if garfield wouldnt have said those things about sony we could have seen him interacting with rdj which i think would have been really neat

I am glad he isn't. Wasn't a fan of Garfield, or his movies. Holland was much better.

Maybe it's because I've been watching a lot of interviews with him but did anyone else find his accent strange in the movie? Like, I couldn't tell if it was his normal voice or an american voice at some parts.

Thank you, Marvel Studios. Thank you, Russo Brothers. Thank you, Tom Holland.

I LOVE Spidey in this movie. Abso-freaking-lutely adorable and wonderful. He was, without a doubt, a scene stealer (which is really saying something, considering Black Panther and Ant-Man).

I actually found Ant-Man more humorous myself, but Spider-Man was definitely perfect.

I don't think it'd be that hard for Stark to figure it out given all of His tech and resources.

I really liked Garfield. He had the misfortune of not being cast a decade earlier. He would have been the right age (mid teens) and would have had the right director (Raimi).

I feel guilty because my favorite part involving Spider-Man wasn't something he did. It was when
Cap schooled him during their fight

[BLACKOUT]I LOVED the exchange between the two of them after Cap "won."[/BLACKOUT]

The way Marvel Studios has the characters interacting with each other ... That will NEVER not put a huge, dopey smile on my face. It's been an absolute joy to watch these characters come together and talk to each other. The character interactions are the main draw of these movies for me, honestly.

He needed someone who could put them down without using lethal force. It was his job to web them up, he said so.

He was literally perfect. I couldn't believe what I was watching

Really can't believe how well done Spidey and Parker were. This is the first time I have seen both done perfect. Well done Russo's and Holland. Can't wait for Homecoming.

Spiderman was good in this but Garfield is still the best spiderman. He was better then tobey though and we have yet to have had a bad spiderman. His jokers in this were great the star wars thing cracked me up. The way the jokers where writing was the best yet but performance wise Garfield is the best but Garfield was a perfect spiderman so I am not surprised that he wasn't topped.

Garfield, the perfect spider-man?? Not even close.

Holland's quips were infinitely smarter, funnier, and more endearing than anything Garfield's Spider-Man said.

The audience in my theater applauded at the "HOLY S***!" line. And the Empire Strikes Back reference was just too great.

"There's this REALLY old movie ..." :funny: Oh my god, I love it so much.

I don't think Garfield writing was as strong but performace wise he was perfect. You give him this movies kind of writing and he would be the RDJ of spiderman Garfield would be.
