Just saw that Rolling Stone's Peter Travers' review will be positive (sounds like a rave), which makes me happy since he's one of my 3 go-to critics. Him, McWeeny at Hitfix and James Berardinelli. Whenever at least 2 of my 3 go-tos have liked a movie, I have liked the movie. Without fail. And now Travers makes two. Huzzah for me. :D

Nice! For the record all the critics I like have praised the movie so Im happy.

I've always liked Berdanelli, Travers, Roeper, and Kenneth Turan. The New York critics are the ones I dislike. Kyle Smith, O'hehir, AO Scott, and Rex Reed. Those guys are the real t-sippers. I can tolerate Dargis.

Bill Goodykontz and Adam Graham(top critics) also will be positive. That will be 23/24 on top critics.

Ann Hornaday of WaPo liked it too, 3/4 stars. She's been a fan of the MCU before, especially Cap's movies. She did say there are parts that start to feel too much, but overally, she liked it!

I'm not familiar with very many critics but I think the guy on BBC (Nicholas Barber) is probably the worst I've come across. I almost never agree with his opinion and sometimes I can't believe what he rates things. He gave CW a 3/5, saying it "isn't Marvel-ous" while he gave BvS a 4/5, calling it an "epic." He also gave the Jungle Book 2/5 ("identity crisis") and Deadpool 3/5 (actually fairly positive).

So I'm wondering, is this guy typical of British critics? I really have no familiarity with how British tastes (at least among their critics) differ from American ones.

Man, we are sooooo spoiled :yay:

I was thinking the same thing! Everyone forgets the dark times...back in March. Watching in horror as a super-hyped film kept getting worse and worse reviews....waiting for ONE LITTLE POSITIVE review...

...with this film, we're like, "Gah! We may drop below 93%"!!

I get to see this film tomorrow night...why does it have to be so far away?!

11 rotten, now at 92 lol.

I want this movie to stay in the 90s range, it's already bad enough that TWS is at 88% :cmad:

89%... And all this needs to do is stay under 30 rotten reviews and we're in the clear. There's no way less than 300 critics review this movie.

11 rottens. Grrr. We've had a run of rottens the last day or so. I want it to stay in the mid 90's. Not happening.

Staying at 90%+ would be fantastic, forget about mid 90's.

126-11 now. The negatives are popping up often enough to keep this from recovering any more percentage points.

I'm really happy about the Top Critics score, that's usually lower than the overall score but this time is really high.

How many positives are yet to be added?

I don't think we are even at the halfway point. BvS got 327. CW is at 137, so around 190 more reviews to go. To stay at least at 90% 167 additional reviews would have to be positive.

I mean the ones We know of that haven't been added yet.

My personal count is.

126-6.
95% (which is inline with the top critic RT)

Decided to take out 5 negative reviews that I think are agenda driven or just lame nitpicks from the review to give it a negative review.

It won't stay in the 90's if it keeps dropping.

You're correct sir. I can't see this dropping lower than mid-80s though, and after the BvS fiasco, I'm glad to not have to see a superhero movie drop too low.

Forget about the positive reviews, it's easier to think of how many negative reviews this movie needs to stay at 89.5% and above.

90% and above is the goal.

With 280 reviews: < 29 rotten reviews.
With 290 reviews: < 30 rotten reviews.
With 300 reviews: < 31 rotten reviews.
With 310 reviews: < 32 rotten reviews.
With 320 reviews: < 33 rotten reviews.
With 330 reviews: < 34 rotten reviews.

Don't think it will be getting less than 280 nor will it get more than 330. There you have it folks. And again, those numbers are to get 89.5% or higher, which is rounded to 90. The math is correct, I'm not crazy.

It's right on target for what I figured. I predicted 87-90% hopefully on the high side.

We have several users on these forums who are doing that.

It's already been happening. Weeks before it was out in even the international market a bunch of idiots went to IMDB and began posting negative reviews to try and bring down the overall average. You can tell they didn't see the movie because it's all very broad, general stuff like "There's too many jokes and it's not dark enough!"
