Am I alone in not being excited for S9?

I disagree with a lot of this. I thought the Red Blue Blur was handled quite well, and dispite the terrible conclusion, I loved 90% of davis/doomsday.

It's funny, I just rewatched Combat the other day. Man, if the Doomsday fight would have been on the same level as the fight with Titan, I would have loved it.

Agreed i wish but instead we got that crappy 1 second fight!:cmad:

Yea i said it before i am optimistic too hoping that season 9 will do well. I agree the producers/writers should limit to maybe 2-3 arcs to run through the whole season. like 3-5 episodes per arc. So they can confine things going on and not just throw something in here or there. I agree to bad the doomsday/clark fight wasnt anything like titan/clark fight. But since we are getting more human looking guys with zod/metallo and we wouldnt need to much sfx for them. Hopefully we can get some actual decent fights from them. I said this in the other thread here after how us fans were pissed with the lack of a dd/clark fight in the finale the producers better deliever on zod/metallo/etc... villain fights.

I'd like to be more excited about S9, but the producers reaaaaaally screwed the pooch with that finale. Which is a shame, since most of Smallville's best episodes are their premieres and finales. I'm still going to watch, but if there's too much of Clark's "my human side is holding me back" bull****, I'm going to kick some ass.

Metallo showing up pretty much sealed the deal for me watching this season.

Yeah tired of ***** Clark. Want real man Clark. Superman Clark. Also can Clark get his show back seem all season 8 was was the Oliver Queen/Green Arrow show. They made him more exciting as a character then Clark was.

Felt like i was watching Green Arrow the tv show and not Smallville the television show.

Is Super Girl gonna be in this season of SV? Also will Lois know CLark secret all season or will her mind get wipped out? Also its not a secret anymore since all of CLakr's friends even the cop guy know what his power is.

Wow.
Alright, which part of this to tackle first....
1) I believe in a recent interview Laura Vandervoort was called about returning, not positive if it's going to happen or not, but I believe it was in reference to some episodes that didn't happen LAST season.

2) Lois likely will not know Clark's secret. She doesn't currently, So hopefully she doesn't learn it in the beginning of the season to just forget it agian.

3) Lois doesn't know his secret, neither does 99.9 percent of the world. they found out for a moment and all hell broke loose.

I believe the lovely Ms. V. was speaking in reference to the possible series finale of the show...if it had occurred (for you U.K.ers, that means the finale of the entire show).

I think it wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility to see her again at some point, and it would be most reasonable to assume that TPTB might like to see every semi-regular back for a moment or two before, or at, "the end" of the show...whenever that may be...

and, uh...whatever format that may be in...

;)

My biggest pet peeve about Season 8 was all the Off-Screenville RBB crap. The show constantly talked up how great and wonderful a hero RBB was, but they only showed it once in 'Identity,' when Clark saves Lois from being hit by an SUV.

their was other times we saw clark doing RBB stuff besides indentity.

Tom Welling is that you, did you start this thread? Bummer dude!!!!!!

Don't get me wrong, I really loved both storylines too, but they way the writers rapped ithem up was pretty bad. Doomsday was defeated too easily, Davis is killed off as he reveals he was a psycho along and Clark...well...his journey is left questionable yet again.

Clark is the side plot.

Am I alone?

sort of but not fully. Although I enjoyed the first 7 1/2 seasons, the second half of season 8 and now the spoilers involving Olivers inner struggles, questioning the superhero gig and being put in a love triangle with clark and lois have me turned off as well. It does infact, seem like clark will be the "side plot" in season 9 while Oliver takes center stage. Not liking that one....single....bit.
Yes, it IS obvious they're running out of ideas when they have Oliver falling back in love with Lois when it was crystal clear in season 6 they moved on. It's looking more and more likely I will not be tuning in past the first couple of episodes (which I will be watching for 2 reasons 1. to see what clark meant by Clark Kent is Dead, I'm still curious and 2.METALLO).
I could care less about Oliver's feelings for Lois (which is Rehash Idea #1), if it does infact turn out that Mason is an undercover persona for Zod (which would be Rehash idea #2) consider me out until the SERIES finale.

Yeah but Lois going into the future to the year 3000 or something. So she will find out by the heroes Clark is Superman. And she should not forget. Mostly all of Clakrs friends know who he is so she mind as well too.

This is the Oliver Queen show ladies and gentleman. All of season 8 focused on him more then Clark really. Mind as well rename the show Green Arrow.

By the way love it Smallville made Oliver into a clone Bruce Wayne. If you cannot get Batman have Oliver be him in a Green Arrow like way. Have him stalk more of his prey and lurk in the shadows which he does anyways. Also give him a tumbler ike car. Make him fight too.

Anybody by the way love a Green Arrow spinoff show? Cause i'm more into his character then Clark. Clark boring and sucks now. I want more Ollie. He deserves his own show. Even though he taking the spotlight off Clark anyways.

But with Oliver killing people he remidns me of the Punisher. Maybe Smallville making him DC version of Frank Castle.

Okay, is this a spoiler's thread?

*checks the thread title*

No, it doesn't say spoilers in the title, you shouldn't comment directly on spoilers in the thread.

God, where to start.
First of all: It's not the Oliver Queen show. He's not even in every episode. And he only had a couple episodes where he was even a part of the main storyline. You might find him more interesting, that's great. But the fact of the matter is that Clark and the Red Blue Blur got WAY more focus this year than Oliver.

Second:
Green Arrow started off as a carbon copy of Batman to begin with. Even down to the Arrow Cave. Smallville didn't come up with it. It is however genius to use the other batman for the instances where Bruce would come in handy.

I could write for days about the ways the show has disappointed me. But despite this not being the "perfect made-to-order" show for me personally, I'm STILL excited for S9.

One more time for good measure - Smallville is telling its own version of the tale, in ways that both delight and piss people off. If you are hardcore invested in seeing familiar characters and storylines being presented in one way and one way only - be prepared to be disappointed, or learn to be flexible and enjoy the ride.

All that said, I do believe that this season will finally bring to life a lot of the things that comic fans have been asking for. A Metropolis/DP primary locale, Clark and Lois as a couple (even if it's still mostly dancing around each other and making moon-eyes, they will be the focus of each others hearts), ... and maybe, flight. Yeah, I went there. :p

I think Tom just gets better and better as Clark Kent has grown up from farm boy to a dual-identity reporter. Erica's Lois is always fun, and I happen to like Ollie a lot. I never felt his presence threatened Clark as the lead hero on this show. Ollie's questionable moral choices and ends-justify-the means tactics provide a stark contrast to Clark's ever-evolving Supermanly outlook.

Well i think Green Arrow should get a spinoff tv show that comes on NBC. Cause CW sucks and NBC be better fit for the show. But okay maybe he was not focusedm ore but still find him interesting better cause unlike Clark he not a wuss and he takes action. Reminds me of the Punisher of DC.

And well i knew Arrow was designed to be a Batman ripoff even though Batman is actually better then him but its cool and all SV still doing it. They could of gave us a boring character like Clark's character is. He too whinny and *****y.

Your posts make my brain hurt.

I have doubts about season nine as well. The last season ended on a pretty sour note and left a bad taste in most people's mouths. Imo , If season 9 is Clark going round in circles with no real develop or momentum towards becoming Superman i.e the rumored Metropolis film then there really shouldn't be a season nine.

Why your brain too small?:hehe:

Typos are expected to an extent, but your replies have more than usual. It just makes them very, very hard to read.

He was just pointing that out.
