We were talking about this in the Lazarus thread, and I thought considering the circumstances as the premiere of the finale starts tonight, it would make a nice stand alone thread.

In this thread, we can talk about our memories of the show, of the friends we've made on this board, that sort of thing.

So to get us started I'll repost what Kal said, as he said it really well:

Yeah This an momentous occasion for all of us. I can't believe we've made it to ten season or that we got so much stuff over the course of 9 seasons. I'm just going to sit back and enjoy all 21 episodes left till the Big Series Finale .

It's been one hell of a ride these past nine seasons on this forum, I joined Superhero hype at the beginning of season 4 and have been here ever since . During my time here I've made a lot of friends here (Agent Pat, Triplet, The Incredible Hulk, Senere, avidreader, KalKai, Kaboom , Prison Mike, Brainiac 8, RakuMon, Zorex, Cmill216, SpideyVillage, blksuperman2, Binker, phoenixflight, Lunar_Wolf, Zing79, COMPO, Mike_D202, Ultimate_Superman, Bruce_Wayne29, Spider-Gamer, smsvmos, etc....) as well as my own arch-nemesis (Super Ludacris) lol ...I'm kidding . I just want to thanks for the memories

It's been a wonderful ride. :hrt: :supes:

It really has. I don't remember when I started regularly visiting this SV board, but I know I've enjoyed the heck out of it, always.

Final season premiere... wore my red and blue today, just 'cause. ;)

It's gonna suck not having another Smallville season premiere to look forward to :csad:

But im sure this season will be a fun one:supes:

We still got 8 months of new Smallville to go, so let's leave the farewells for the finale & just enjoy the rest of the run while it's still going. That's how I see it.

Yeah, the new season so far promises to be probably the best. Even though I joined the Hype only a couple months ago, I've been lurking here since 2004 or 2005. And your opinions here, guys and gals, have always been interesting for me and I wanna say thank you for it. The comments about the show I've been reading here, whether they were a praise or criticism, have always showed a rational objective point of view, unlike other ship or character obsessed forums where random bashing for no reason is the way to go. So thank you for it and I hope the new season turns out to be the best.

Cripes, this site was still called "Spider-man Hype!" back when Smallville started and we had 1 measely thread in a TV forum. We've come a LONG way

I have been with these forums since 2004, I know I don't post much on them but I do post on them, I have followed everything you guys have said since I came on here, it has been one helluva journey.

i have only just started to really enjoy this thread, as i was in denial that i liked this show for so long, yet i kept on watching.

i think it was cuz all my friends hated it and i didn't want to feel left out so i bashed it.

now , after watching old episodes, i realise that yes, they made some mistakes along the way, but there were some awesome moments as well so i can freely admit that i am a fan and will be sad to see it go.

i hope that i can make some friends on here before the series ends:woot:

its going to be sad watching this yr knowing the time is almost up. I have gone through alot during the course of the show.

I started watching with Crusade. Such a great episode to start on.

Season 4 is one of the most critisised seasons. But it had one of the most awesome premieres and finales.

Season 4 felt like forever for me. It had so many ups and downs. Some of the best episodes of the series were in that season along with some of the worst.

I have a soft spot for S4 since it was the first new season I saw. I even somwhat enjoy the ****tier episodes like Spell.

also- can't believe i forgot this- but if it weren't for smallville i wouldn't have gotten into comics!

season 4 also resonates with me as it was the first one i bought on dvd

The first one I bought on DVD was season 3. I think I got seasons 1-3 at the same time. I will always remember the night I saw the first episode. It was awesome.

If it weren't were Smallville, I would never had cared about Superman. I got into comics because of the Spider-Man movies, but that was only with Marvel and I liked the movies because it showed me that Spider-Man was relatable, which at the time, I didn't think Superman was. I thought he was just this cocky hero with no story. But once I saw SV, I realized that they're a lot more to Superman than just the cape and costume. Now, I think I can almost say Superman is my favorite superhero, even before Spider-Man.

Season 5 resonates for me, mainly Splinter and Solitude. Those were the first new episodes I started watching. I remember catching up with the older episodes when they used to show them on ABC family. I miss those days.

They need to air re-runs again

Agreed. That's how I was introduced. I would watch season 4 on wednesday/thursday (cant remember which) nights and then daily reruns of the older seasons on ABC Family.

Good stuff.

Season 4 was Wednesday I think. I didn't get to watch much of the show that season since it was my freshman year in college and my roommate would want to watch something else.

I wish I could've been supporting the show for it's 10 years,But I'm pretty much a new fan!.....I saw some episodes for S1&2 but then I stopped having cable and when I was able to get back to it...I missed a season or so and then the dvd's were pretty expensive to collect.

Now they are $20 for all seasons at best buy and so I am collecting them,I only have Season one&2 and it's instantly my fav and so I can't wait to enjoy it all once I get them all by end of the year.

I remember when I was in the Navy for season 1 and I came home for leave and my mom (who until a few years ago, disliked anything to do with superheroes she thought they were childish) asked me if I have seen this new show called Smallville, I told her yes, she told me it was really good (I came home when Metamorphosis was first being aired)
I said to her mom I'm surprised you like this show, she never connected the two until I showed her the part in the credits where it says Superman Created By, since then she hasn't watched an episode, unless I was their visiting then I would make her watch it.

But I have watched this show season the very first episode. I own all the dvds bought them as soon as they came out

I think I talked about this before, but I will again in case anyone wants to know.

I hadn't originally wanted to watch the show, I was a Superman fan even though I hadn't read a comic since high school (which was a long time ago). My sister was watching and adored the show, she talked me into trying it.

I watched it pretty much casually that year, about halfway into the second season and missed several episodes. Maybe it's not surprising that I wasn't all that into it, my first episode was Visage (the one where Tina comes back as Whitney to stalk Lana.. I had no clue who most of those people were. It was very confusing.)

I watched fairly irregularly until I started getting more into it. The second season finale, Exodus, had one hell of a cliffy. I had to keep watching. Even though I wasn't hooked yet, but I had pretty much not missed any of season 3. However I was still unsure of some of the relationships because I hadn't seen any of season 1 and hadn't seen the Pilot. Some things still confused me...

Well, I asked for the DVD sets of season 1 and 2 that summer for my birthday and I got them. When I did, I got hooked after seeing just the Pilot.

Man, it's really that good to me. Awesome Pilot.

I pretty much mainlined the two season sets I had that summer, my husband and eldest were in California so me and my youngest were HOOKED. I think we watched both sets, 44 or so episodes, in less than two weeks.

She has since latched onto Supernatural more, it suits her nature better, but it was that summer, the summer of 2004, between seasons 3 and 4 that I got so into the show. I probably didn't really fall in love with Tom's acting, and he can really act for you doubters, until I caught the episodes of Judging Amy he'd been in that were being repeated on TNT. He was so different in that show, it showed me that although the early seasons of Smallville didn't test his range, he had serious potential. It was only after that I started writing reviews and defending Tom so ardently in the casting threads over in the SR forum.

I miss some of that, even though it was so angsty and angry. It was pretty much the golden age of this forum, I think. There were a lot of people getting banned and flaming each other, but you got to know people a little more. I don't have time now to spend as much time here as I did then. I had another job in a different state and my life was in a pretty different place, so I miss that too at times.

Good times were had here, more than the bad. So The Hype! will always have a fond place in my heart, even after the show ends and people here all disperse into the winds.

i been with the show since day one in oct of 2001, i gone through 3 yrs of highschool, 5 yrs of college, and now working in the real world with the show. and trip i too remember the good and bad days oh hype during the many casting wars before and after SR.

For us Aussies, Smallville didn't start here until around April/May of 2002 & I can remember sitting down one day to read the TV book & see what was going to be on & seeing Smallville's pilot advertised for the next night, having not even known anything about a new Superman show. & I just went ape****. I can still remember that day clearly & I even cut out & kept the page that advertised it, with a little picture of Tom, Kristin & Michael. I still have that little page in a folder somewhere to this very day. I been there since day 1 & have never given up on the show, even after Channel 9 here in Australia canceled it after season 2. I immediately got the Internet that very next week & remember DL'ing my first ever episode with crappy dial up speed that took me a week to download each episode. It was such a hard task to even view an episode back in those days, but it made the viewing of the episodes that much sweeter.
