Am I the omly one who prefers Superman to be the sole survivor of Krypton.

I'd be cool with that. Yes, Superman being the sole survivor is better and more potent as far as his character's...character is concerned, but like I said, I don't downright hate the idea of Supergirl being in existence.

I like him being the only one. John Byrne was on to something there.

If Power Girl were removed from DC... there would be a great void... actually two great voids. :D

Actually, Power Girl is one of my top three female characters in DC. She doesn't get a lot of action, but when she does, I just love the way she's usually written. She's very feisty, confident, and she has an amazing look (especially when drawn by Alex Ross). She's characterized very different from Supergirl, who's usually more Superman-ish in attitude, which is why I just can't wrap my head around the fact that instead of making a whole new character for Power Girl they just made her an alternate universe Supergirl.

No argument their, I was attracted to Power Girl because of her assets, but busty fems aren't hard to find in comics, I liked her because she wasn't just Superman light, like Kara Zor-El, and she didn't spend her life living in her cousin's shadow.

Exactly.

Power Girl is definately one of my favorite DC characters. I always thought she and Ted Kord should've been an item. Alas. :csad:

Well I think one of the things I like about Power Girl is that she seems to be enjoying the superheroine thing way too much to settle down or be someone else's gal.

Well, then there's drama, ain't there? 'Sides, she wouldn't have had to settle down. I would have just liked to see the two of 'em do some romancing.

Am I the omly one who prefers Superman to be the sole survivor of Krypton. I am not trying to start a debate thread, on whatever he should be or not. T was just wonding if I was the omly one. The reason I prefer him to be the sole survivor is, it just makes him a bit more unique in my estimation to not only be something of a alien that introduces himself to the human race by doing good fighting for truth, justice, and the american way, but also the very last of his kind. To have other survivor's such as Zod, Kypto and Kara works. But it's certainly a concept that I could live without.
Well you're not the only one, but you very well might be the omly one. I haven't a clue what omly means.

I'm John Kerry And I'm Reporting For Duty!
Yes, but did you approve this message?

I dont think it takes that much away from supes.
Yeah, it kinda does. It's like if Batman suddenly had a brother or something (which I believe he did in some Silver Age bull**** story, and then it was never discussed again.)

p.s. what is krypto's origin?
He's a dog from Krypton, I think.

after that with the monkey Beppo and all the other ****, it gets stupid.
Is that what they're trying to do with that damn Kryptonite monkey? Are they trying to bring back Super-Monkey? ****ers. I bet they try to bring back Comet the Super-Horse next.

Now J'onn no longer being the sole Green Martian, that's something I have a problem with.
Which is good for you, because
if you actually could wade your way through that mini, I'm pretty sure that as it turns out, he still IS the only Green Martian. That actually made the whole mini a lot better in retrospect.

Personally, I'd make Krypto a normal dog, and Kara Clark's earthly cousin, the daughter of Martha's kid sister or something. Then I'd have one or both of them get powers through some Earthly means. Maybe they're kidnapped and experimented on by Lexcorp.
What was it, purple kryptonite that does that or something?

They brought back Krypto and gave him his own cartoon, with Ace the Bat-Hound. Don't tempt them.
I kinda chuckled at Ace the Bat-Hound in that show. I thought that was a mildly funny reference to the real DCAU, the way they did him.

Yeah it would've been interesting. Too bad he's dead though. Didn't he get shot in the face?

I don't mind Supes not being the sole survivor. I mean, three can be as lonely as one, so, what does it matter? I'd keep it as Supes, Supergirl, and to an extent, Powergirl, who has the sole survivor thing going for her. She's the last survivor of not just her Krypton, but her entire universe. Much more tragic if you're into that sorta thing. And then, of course the Kryptonian Criminals. And there really should be a lot more when you think about it. They had been putting murderers, monsters, and all kinds of s**t into the Phantom Zone for years. If everybody in the Zone got released at once, well there goes your next big event right there. I mean, the White Martians were stuck in there for awhile before Fernus killed most of em. What if a White Martian mated with a Kryptonian? What kinda f**ked up life form would we be looking at? I think the Phantom Zone isn't used enough for possible storylines.

Superman doesn't need to be the last survivor at all. He can still be the last Son of Krypton without being the last Kryptonian.

Exactly. Plus under Siegel and Shuster, that was never a big part of his character. What they need to look into bringing back is Superman's social conscience if you ask me.
