Should Superman be the sole survivor of Krypton?

... or were they? Maybe they're back on Earth teh-Golden-Age-r0xx0rzz!!!!1

Yes, Superman should be the sole survivor of Krypton.

It is a big part of his character, and it is the reason for the original Crisis (to widdle away the Superman powers so that there is a ballance of good and evil and not having good have 8 different Superman characters on their side.)

Now if they revealed in different ways over time that each Superman type character was not as powerful as Superman then it would be good and make sence.
Maybe say that Supergirl being younger isn't as strong because her powers haven't developed enough.
Superboy (if he is brought back) is a clone mixed with another's DNA.

Something like that.

See heres the problem with having so many kryptonians. They come to earth and they all become gods. I mean had they put in a rule where superman was special then we wouldnt have the issue where a more hands on kryptonian could simply over power him.

The whole point of kryptonian supervillains is that they're all as powerful as or moreso than Superman but he kicks their asses anyway because they lose themselves in their own godlike power, but Superman doesn't because he was raised by Ma and Pa Kent to be a decent young man who cares about people, proving once again that it is not his planet-crushing strengh or laser eyeballs, but Working-Class American Heartland Values that are Superman's greatest power.

No, he should not be the only Kryptonian. We've come too far for that to ever be viable again. The opportunity has passed. The train has left the station. The chicken has flown the coop. The apple has fallen from the tree. The candle has used up all the wax. The monkey has eaten the banana. The...

Seriously, it's like asking if Clark and Lois should be unmarried again or something.

Superman
Supergirl
Chris Kent
The third guy from Krypton (who has yet to come forward)
Zod
Ursa
Nod
and about 25 people they released.

isn't kandor still knocking about as well? does krypto count?

i have a problem with the whole 'unique' pedestal for superman. He hasn't been the lone kryptonian since the 50's so why change it. Thats not what makes superman special.

Fixed it for ya.

I don't mind that he isn't the last of his race, he's still "the last son of Krypton". Zod and some villains hardly count as a hope for the race.

Now J'Onn he should certainly be the last Martian changing that would just be idiotic... awww :(

Pretty much. All he does is come here and ***** about how comics are lame now.

An uncompromising look into you're future there Spike? Only instead of Pre Crisis you'll be hooked on Pre-IC?

So... the DC universe ended for you in the '80s?

Well, there's some Post-Crisis stuff I've enjoyed but basically, yes. The nice thing about the new Multiverse is that it looks to be a compromise of sorts. My biggest problem with Post-Crisis DC was that it threw out so much Pre-Crisis stuff. That and that it made their continuity more of a mess than it was before, not less.

You know, I can tolerate a few Kryptonians. Pretty much just Superman, Supergirl, Power Girl being an Earth-2 Kryptonian, and the Phantom Zone criminals (Zod is awesome). But they are kinda going overboard with Chris Kent and the third mysterious Kryptonian.
Don't forget the dog. We need the dog.

The only humanoid, non-Superman Kryptonian I want is the For Tomorrow Zod.

Meh. My favorite era of Superman comics ended back in the mid 90's, so I'm already long past my stage of "These stories suck," and I'm over it. Nowadays, I usually just raise an eyebrow and say "these stories make no sense," whether they suck or not.

No, he started out bitter. :oldrazz:

You didn't even like Rucka's AoS run?

Hamilton turning into Ruin was stupid, as were the twin Parasites. Mxy was cool, though.

I really liked Matthew Clark's art, though.

The only things that didn't survive Krypton's destruction were the ones who were deliberately tied to the planet's core and shot in the face just as it went up. Honestly, how big was Krypton that so much Kryptonite made it to earth?

Kandor's cool and all, but I kinda liked the "crystal replica Kandor" thing Clark had in "For the Man Who Has Everything" better.

Krypto and Beppo (and, I think, streaky and Comet) are still in-continuity, I'm pretty sure. That alone becamse the subject of ridicule in Toyfare, wherein they "decided DC would just do their own ridiculous comics every month"

And Zod's cool and all, but we're seriously past the point of him being relevant. Zod's the kind of villain Supes should have fought early in his career, and who never should come back.
