Siegel and Shuster themselves designed a slew of Kryptonian characters, didn't they? The way that a character begins is hardly supposed to be the way that the character stays. How many characters these days are exactly the way that their original creators intended?

But I still think Superman should be the sole survivor of Krypton. It gives his character more depth and makes him seem like more of a miracle and a God send. But when there's like five kryptonians running around it cheapens Kal-El's character and makes him less unique.
