I think that we should never forget those events because we start to lower our guard and then bang we have another terro attack

roach said:This is the most tramatic experience that anyone has been thru in the past couple of years. I think I would be more upset if they didnt cover it. 24/7 is a bit extreme but there should be some coverage

What we really should be focusing on is the awful hitler-like Bush who starts Wars for no reason what so ever.
What say all of you? Should the world continue to focus on a day thats long past or the unjust war in Iraq?
Matt said:Five years ago. For a couple years, I agree...memorials were appropriate. But there is a time when you just gotta move on. It sounds insensitive, sure...but its life. You can't mourn over something forever.

I guess it's easier for the rest of the country/world to "move on" because they don't live here or have that constant reminder. I choose not to mourn it but I can't help it if it's something that still hurts.

I live in ohio and she lived in California, so we didn't get to see eachother nearly as often as I liked. She was an extremely smart, beautiful and caring mother of four who almost never complained about anything, despite the fact that she had severe scoliosis and couldn't get surgery to aleave the pain, because she was burned over most of her body when she was six years old. I always hated that she was in constant pain but always admired her will to work past it try to better her life. Words can not even to begin to express how much I will miss her smile, her laugh, her terrible singing voice and her extremely dirty mouth. She was a kind of a hippy, played by her own rules. Our disgreements were many ofcourse, but I couldn't have asked for a better older sister.
When I was told that she had fallen asleep at the wheel of her car and died I was shocked and sadden to likes of which I never thought I could be. I still miss her and still cry for her. I will always miss her but I refuse to let that rule my life and nobody should because the truth is death is a part of life, that is something we all should remember.
Do I rememer her death? Yes. Do I get lumps in my throat and heart come October? Yes. Would she want me to move on? Absolutely! And I am for the most part. I will never forget that day and I will never forget her but nobody but her family and friends remember that day and it is no less important than 9/11. The families should move on and so should America, focus on the things that are happening now, don't ignore them for one day, that doesn't belong to the 9/11 families.

If I'm ever dumb enough to have a kid, or another family member dies, I honestly don't give a damn if someone who isn't in my family is sick and tired of our mourning.vibeke_T said:All you people that are sick and tired of the memorializing of Sept 11 are insensitive jerks and you need to wait till your child dies or something and people are sick and tired of your mourning over your lost child...then you will understand why people were very hurt over this. Loss of life is just that: loss of life. Not a pleasant thing by any means and that means we dont have to forget about the people we lost. A lot of Americans felt like the people that died in those towers that day were their own relatives and friends because as crazy as it sounds Americans do actually care about other Americans when the need arises.
