Though i doubt it, i'd be great to remove that phone from the interface, it kind of nullifies the whole minimal approach they had with the HUD. Who needs a map anyway, in a Spidey game? Put it in the pause menu where it belongs
EDIT: heres a better idea. Have the phone act as that WayneTech-OPSAT-thing that was in AC. meaning that it showed the map, as well has profiles, unlocked collectibles, finished comic books, and so forth.
A magazine article said the mini-map could be toggled on and off, and a screenshot of the controls were posted on here a while back that showed that pressing up on the D-pad toggles the mini-map. I think this is perfect, as I like the mini-map frequently, but some times it's nice to turn it off. It's little decisions like this that are impressing me about this game.
