But nothing really happens on the rooftops in this game. When you get close to the building like Oscorp, you see that the inside of the building, the offices, are all flat renders. The buildings in this game aren't that detailed whether that be in the air or on the ground.

Just started playing today and having a fun time.

Im getting use to the web-slinging controls, much different from Spider-Man 2.

But having fun time collecting comics and just enjoying the free roaming city. The last mission i did was breaking Connors out of prison.

yes, but I don't think that they could've done much better. The graphics have to run very fluid for the very fast and acrobatic things and swinging, so that proves the argument "well, GTA 4 has a detailed city, so this could've had too" invalid

Yes, but I take it as a challenge :oldrazz: yes I know, I will never get through to him, but I will still treat him just like other members of the board

The graphics look great to me, especially the smooth animations.

A Rhino fight like the cartoons where he bulldozens into a building and Spider-Man has to avoid not only being inpaled but flying desks and filing cabinets would be amazing.

Close down the seperation between outdoor and indoor level. Not even Arkham City was able to do that this generation.

I'm sorry... what?!
Nothing really happens on the rooftops?!

Check this out:
i was just sightseeing, enjoying the crowd respond as I swung by, doing my own thing... andthanBAMN!!
I got friggin shot, man! four/five snipers were trying to shoot my down.
Right after I took care of them this scouter robot started scanning me and then it went away.
Everything's cool now, right? Wrong! This Spider-Hunter chased me down the streets, shooting blue balls (ha! blue balls...) at me, electrifying me and doing this kamikaze thing.
As a hero I couldn't and wouldn't allow this kind of behavior so I had to take it out real quick and surf on a piece of it's armor as it blew up.
People started applauding and some even took pictures with their phones.

But yeah... nothing really happens, right?:P

Nice! Take your time, man.
No need to rush;)

Can't wait for August 10th!

Hopefully the graphics will be better on my setup than the consoles. But I don't have a great setup, so it's unlikely. I sort of wish I had a console, but it's so close to the end of the generation, and if I feel like I need the Xbox gamepad for the game I'll just hook one up to my computer.

hey guys.

just picked the game up at Walmart for the 2 free movie tickets!!

but, before I open it, is there a way I can check to see if my local movie chain will accept the free tickets? Can you use it at most movie chains around the US?

also, how exactly does it work? I go online, print off the tickets. Then, I go to my theater, give them the ticket coupons, tell them what showtime I want, then they will give me 2 regular tickets for that showtime. Is that how it works?

thanks.

thanks. so, I won't be able to find out if my theater participates in the deal until I actualy open the game box and look at the tickets?

I think all theaters should participate unless you have some small, family-owned place. Big places like Regel and whatnot should accept.

ok, I gave in and opened the game. the instructions were on the back of the manual.

I checked the site it pointed to, and it looks like my theater chain participates.

so, I got my 2 tickets printed out! :woot:

I don't really like easy games. Challenge is a must! Makes them last longer too.
But hey, what's CA: SS? Is it any good?
Captain Amwerica: Super Soldier
Decent as a game, great as a Sega made Marvel movie licensed game (compared to Thor and Iron Man games at least, since those are all the way awful)

Can't wait for the PC version.
Same

I didn't get all collectibles on my first play-through so I am now doing that. I'm currently working on getting all the ones in ch. 3.

Not looking forward doing that to ch. 4 which was my least favorite chapter in the entire game, but I guess its the price I pay.

After this, I'll be doing the story on a higher difficulty setting, now that I have the game's mechanics pat down, and now know which upgrades to get where I need them.

Overall, I loved this game. I highly recommend it.

*sigh*

I wish the game's events would be referenced by the 2nd movie. Too bad the game most likely won't be considered canon.

Oh well, it will be in my books unless a movie retcons it.

Yea it was confirmed at this years E3 that the game isn't canon. It makes sense because not all movie goers are gamers and if the movie referenced the game some people would be like huh? When did that happen?

the devs never said it wasn't canon, just that it wouldn't be referenced in movies.

Which is a shame. It seems like the multi-media franchises (that include canon games) normally start out as games.

Realistically it won't be but I'm like you and I just like to think so because I liked the story, it was a nice progression from the end of the movie with a lot of cool lower-key Spidey villains movie-ized and lots of cool moments (I liked the powerless Spidey stuff) and status quo put safely where it was at the end of the film.

The game isn't canon I don't care what they say. If nothing in the game is referenced future movies then it NOT canon plain and simple.

hmmmm.....that's kind of a shame the game events won't be referenced in the movies......:(

I guess that means we won't see the cross-species experiments like Rhino and Scorpion in the films??

I guess you have to give the screen time to major villains like GG or Doc Ock......but I still think it's kind of cool how Oscorp is responsible for the cross species villains. Plus, you got Smythe and his robots ( which I'm assuming will lead up to Spider Slayers in the game.......yes? ).
