I think they already have the right guys. Now they just need to stop splitting the teams, so they can work on 2 Spider-Man titles at the same time. I really wish all the people working on Edge of Time, had helped out on ASM. That and a developing cycle of at least 3 years.

Guess what guys? It's not gonna happen in the foreseeable future. Activision owns the Spidey license. The day they allow R* or RS to make a Spidey game will be awesometacular. It's pretty much not gonna happen. Has R* even ever make a game based on something?

Rocksteady would be awesome but I seriously doubt Rockstar would make a good Spider-Man game.

Sure, they may nail the city but I really doubt they'd get the "Spider-Man" feel.

Maybe if Activision let Beenox's entire team work on a Spidey game without a specific planned date and it's not based/attached on anything, it could be wonderful. That's what Asylum was. It wasn't based/attached to anything, RockSteady pretty much had all the time in the world. The game was supposed to come out in like June 2009, they said, we gotta make a better game, in doing so, this needs to be delayed. And it was. Activision would have been like, too bad, it's coming out June 2009.

Someone please :( How do you unlock spider tracers for beloit patients. I dont believe no one knows. Someone just tell me ive been asking for days

I certainly wouldn't argue that it wouldn't improve the city if it were more "lively". But i think it may be a question of what is possible while maintaining image/texture quality, frame frates, animations, etc.

Ignoring limitations, I think it'd be really nice to have people poking their heads out of windows and cheering you on…to swing by a building and see a get together of friends/rooftop dining. To walk down the street and see a garbage truck emptying a dumpster, to swing by Times Square and see a sea of people trying to get their faces on camera during filming of a news/tv show.

But again, there are major limitations to what can be done. I think people grossly underestimate the time, energy, man hours, and processing power needed to get a truly GREAT Manhattan in a Spidey game without having to sacrifice anything. In a few years when, hopefully. But not this generation.

I love the bolded parts, some things I've never even thought of myself! Hopefully that will happen in the next gen or something :)

This! Beenox could do wonders with Spidey that way

I have nothing to do in this game now, so I did basically everything and I got the unlock mid way through the game. I just have to get indoor collectibles and enemy photos.

Can we keep upgrades when we start a new game or do we have to do everything from scratch?

With a S-M movie supposedly coming out every 2 years..the games aren't going to get better and they will all be movie tie-ins for promotional reasons. Sorry. Some independent studio that aren't controlled by the Activision hacks is the only chance at an amazing Spidey game.

We know this.

This is unfortunately the truth. Damn it, The Dark Knight didn't need a movie tie in game, we got Arkham Asylum instead and that worked as really good promotion for the character of Batman as well. **** Activision

EDIT: This game didn't even have any of the movie actors do the voices (which I'm thankful for). So unnecessary to make it tied to the film IMO!

Everything I've been wanting in a Spider-man game for this gen has arrived with ASM. It does need a bit of polish in some areas but overall this is a great game and there are a few things I'm hoping Beenox adds to this game. My list for things I'd like to see added:

* A patch or update to make random crimes, seekers, rooftop snipers, etc. remain continuous.
* DLC side missions
* Combat challenge maps

Give me those things and I'll be ecstatic.

You may have to just restart the game like I did for my web punch upgrade...

Okay I replayed the story, and I can tell you exactly when I unlocked it. It was immediately after an outdoor mission near the end of the story, it's the last time you lose reception for your phone and must locate and destroy those three devices. You spot them from a distance as a red beam shooting into the sky and there are robots guarding them. Know what I mean?

Has anyone else ran into some really weird glitches where elements of the game disappear? A while ago all street lights disappeared from the city, and even dying wouldn't bring them back. If I hadn't already played, I may have gone through the entire game without noticing.
That could explain why some people are reporting a lack of cars/people etc.
Another time all the web rush icons disappeared and made it impossible to jump to perch points without slowing down time. That would be a game ruiner if it happened on my first play through, come to think of it, it may have happened briefly at times.

The story has let me down -- It wasn't even bad -- just poorly utilized in the execution. "Web Of Shadows" did a better "quarantine New York" story line and we actually saw the affect on the people and the city outside of that stupid "twitter" feed.

I agree with you here. The story about a citywide zombie/cross species outbreak had very little presence in the actual gameplay. You fought infected people in the sewers, but there should have been at least one section at the end where you fight off infected in the street and see the effects on the city/people. There's only one brief section where we see infected causing chaos on the surface, and it's when you don't have any powers. After defeating Smythe there isn't even any mention of how they plan to disperse the cure or otherwise get rid of all the infected. And why did Smythe run away and commit suicide when a cure was already available?

Also about the losing powers thing. Fun, but to me it did feel like a rehash of edge of time. A more original idea would have been to have sections where you have powers but no web shooters, rather than the opposite.

I really don't get the decision that was made to have no more random crimes after completing a certain number of each. Nothing at all to do in the city after you've done everything else and just want to swing around and be a hero and stop some crimes. :o That's why I still like to play SM2, you can pop it in any time and still solve as many crimes as you want, but I do like that they actually reward you here by giving you some special things like the 100% black suit and being able to replay some missions.

got 100% now i don´t know what to do :csad:

Rockstar has already done that with GTA. Those cities are alive.

Yes, but at the cost of good graphics. Sorry, but GTA looks like garbage, even when compared to other open world games.

(and I'm not certainly saying ASM has stellar graphics, but they're certainly better than GTA).

Landmark wise, GTA was great. The Empire State Building and Metlife (Getalife) are quite incredible. I love that city. But it is WAY too narrow and thin. There aren't many buildings stretching across Manhattan (or Algonquin or whatever the hell). Of course the game makes up for the space with two other big ass islands. I think the graphics are good at both day and night in it as well. The city lights at night is what this Spidey game needs, and so do the others. I like looking in the distance and seeing the tiny white dots on the buildings.

I love this game, and while I will admit its not perfect, it is extremely enjoyable to me. I've played through the story twice and I really REALLY had a good time playing it. Hopefully we will get some great DLC, to make it even better
