It's also interesting that Web Rush was made mostly because of the movie itself and not because of Spidey from the comics. I wonder, if it had been a comics only based game, if Web Rush wouldn't have been thought of.
Also, that ASM was too easy (IMO) was because they wanted the game to be made for a wider audience who watch the film, and not the comic core fans. Interesting.
Took this quote from the article:
We werent aiming for the core Spider-Man audience like we might with Shattered Dimensions or Edge of Time, Nicholas explained. We were aiming at the market that a Sony Pictures movie might appeal to. With that in mind as our core target, [the question became] how do we make something that is fun and entertaining, and makes you feel like Spider-Man in the movie.
So, basically, all the cool things I really liked about this game such as the closer camera, the combat and the web rush only came about because they were targeting the movie-going audience instead of the core of Spider-man fans??!!
Essentially if it weren't for the movie we probably wouldn't have any of these features and we, the real Spidey fans, would have been stuck with another evolution of the EoT circuit of gameplay elements. Wow. That's how I am interpreting what Nicholas Brandt is saying. If that's his idea of 'targeting the core of Spider-man fans' then someone needs to deliver a very hard, swift kick right in his nuts.
