so i still don't own the game yet but I tried it at a friends house today for like an hour and instantly fell in love.

my only complaint is that the camera can get kinda annoying sometimes but the camera can be an issue in almost every game. i have yet to play a video game without camera glitches.

combat is badass and works really well

stealth take downs are cool

wall crawling and running awe decent.

webswinging is AWESOME. I might even go as far to say the best yet. I know ppl are VERY nostalgic about SM2 but I', sorry

it's one thing to have the type of locomotion and complexity to the webswinging in SM2

it's another to have the webswinging actually make you FEEL like Spider-Man.

and who gives a Vermin's ass if the webs attach to the pearly gates of Heaven?

As long as the visual aspect of swinging looks awesome and feels badass, i don't give a damn about webs attaching or not attaching to buildings.

how many times do u read a comic, watch a cartoon, tv show, or movie with spidey and actually try to see where the webs are attaching to when he is webswinging?

prob hardly ever.

For DLC they should have an alternate story where Peter gets injected with some kind of flim flam stuff and the Spider side of him takes over and then throughout the rest of the game thugs get freaked out seeing you, cvillians run and scream when they see you Gwen is disgusted by you etc. honestly it would be a cooler more scary side of the story. Food for thought.

They took away the challenge of targeting buildings with your web when swinging. You can basically swing indefinitely without consequence now.

I don't like that.

I got the game yesturday and have properly managed to play it today.

I'm on up to chapter 3 now but I really like this game. I actually don't mind the web-slinging to much though I agree, there should be more 'weight' to it instead of it just attaching to the clouds and I definately miss the mementum build up that was there in older games. The combat is good though not much moves to do at the moment, but im sure that'll change as I get more unlockables.

I'll give it a better review after I;ve played it more, but so far, i really enjoy it.

There was never a challenge. Your webs automatically went to the closest building. This game you can't swing unless your close to buildings so its the exact same.

You unlock the tech by doing the lab mini quests. They're the green lab tabs on the map

Still feels weird.

I prefer the web-swinging in Spider-Man 2 & 3.

On a serious note, I replayed the oscorp lab one, and spidey says something about antenas and i never got the upgrade. so now im gonna have to do a whole new game, even though I was on 90% completion. Thanks beenox.

So far (I'm at Chapter 9 now), I think calling it mediocre is a bit too harsh, but at the same time I really wouldn't call it as great as alot of you guys do. I actually agree with some of chaseter's points, such as lame boss battles and very boring villains. Which actually takes it down a big notch for me. It's pretty clear that while this is a good game in movie based games standard, it really suffers in many ways for being tied to the film series. They really should have made an original game not based on the movie instead. I don't really see any reason not to since they didn't have any of the movie actors in it anyway.
