I tried this today and the Manhattan island is TOO small. Beenox is lazy
This is the best looking Manhattan I've seen in a video game. There are going to be sacrifices made to get a good looking city in a game that plays smoothly. I personally think the size is fine for what they wanted to do, and don't think it's much (if any) smaller than past Spidey games (not including Roosevelt Island). We will never see a perfect 1:1 rendition of New York. At least not until next gen.

So noone knows what tech upgrades you get from whitney then?
I never noticed that you got specific upgrades from her. To be honest, I didn't pay that much attention. I just assumed the tech upgrades were based on a similar system to the XP accumulation...

Has anyone redeemed the movie ticket vouchers you got from Walmart? If so, are there specific theaters that they are valid for? I got a friend who wants to go with me but is broke, so I’m hoping I can let him use one of them at the Regal theater near me…

Yes. After beating the main story, whenever you go to and then exit your apartment, it asks you to select a time of day. There are several - Day, Sunset, Dusk, Night and something else (forget what it is). Kind of annoying that you have to go to your apartment to do so...would have been less time consuming (minus the load) if you could get hit Start or Select and change it.

That would be better. It is nice they let you choose though. They forgot one however, the evening blackish-blue sky that is present when you fight the hunters. Kinda made me sad that it wasn't there.

WOW you that's a bold statement. you must really liked this. Personally, I think that the Arkham games are still better story and gameplay wise. But I agree the story in this is pretty good for a movie based game.

I think the story itself is better. But the Arkham games are better when it comes to most stuff. I'd rank this game a 7.5/10, Arkham Asylum 8.5/10 and Arkham City 9.5/10. So no, I'm not making a bold statement here.

The way they handled Smythe, the Spider Slayers and Connors, Spidey and Gwen etc. was almost perfect. The last parts of the game really made the enjoyment and excitement rise. But I still think Joker was better in the Arkham games (so the minor villains), the overall feel is better and you more often felt "wow!!" when playing the Arkham games.

It's hard to explain what I mean, but I don't think the story itself in the Arkham games is that much special, it's more the presentation of it that makes it feel better. The way they include so many things from the comics, the graphics (which makes it all look better and thus makes even the story feel better somehow, at least for me), the way they make the main villain always seem present, the atmosphere etc. etc. all wrapped around a story or plot that actually is good but still nothing too special makes it appear better.

Imagine this story being handled with the same details, graphics, mystery, atmosphere etc. that the Arkham games have.

Maybe I'm confusing the words "story" and "plot" here.

uhm they aren't lazy this is their FIRST TIME making a game like this. free roam. so for their first time, they did an epic job

Spider-Man 2 was Treyarch's first time making an open world Spider-Man game and their Manhattan was 10 times better than this Manhattan. (My biggest complaint with this game.) Theirs was bigger, more realistic, and easily recognizable as Manhattan. This one? Not so much.

This is the best spidey game I've ever played. It's amazing. I hope they release more DLC missions. Right now I have 88% completion and just need to take some enemy pictures and get the tech pieces but I don't know what enemy pictures I need to take :(

When you beat the game, Whitney emails you a list of all the enemies that need to be photographed and where they are. Just go through that list and see which ones you haven't got.

But it doesn't mean Beenox was lazy because they failed to follow suit.

I beat those Bruce Campbell challenges. Now I need to go back to specific missions and get collectibles.

I'm not saying they were lazy. I'm just pointing out that this being Beenox's first open world game doesn't mean jack-****.

and it's a lie. SM1 has been dethroned. TASM is way better than SM1 from 2000
Nevermiiiiiiiiiind. Though this post is still untrue. Spider-Man on PS1 will seemingly never be dethroned.

My bad, but because you quoted and responded to Spida-man who was making a point about it not being lazy it could be taken that way. Though I also disagree that it doesn't mean jack-****. It does in my opinion. Just because one developer managed to do it first time doesn't mean that everyone should be able to pull it off automatically. We have no idea the work or skill that goes into that kind of work (regardless of what generation of tech) so it's not fair to compare like for like when it's two different games from two separate teams.

Really? I went through my emails and didn't find it :( I just have emails of articles and of enemies I've already taken pictures of.

I just really hope we get a 616 game with this games formula. I want them to work with the comic lore again and give us bosses with actual personalities. Not just a bunch of gnarling, grotesque monsters. As much as I enjoy this game, I had way more fun with the bosses in Shattered Dimensions.

In my eyes this game is what intended to be: A fun and entertaining game. The main complaint I see is that manhattan is too small and I 100% agree with that and I really agree that Beenox doesn't deserve any excuses. Treyarch nailed manhattan in size and recognizability on their first try and on the last generation no less! That being said this game is really fun but IMO far from SM2 and PS1 SM. But Beenox definitely has potential to eventually dethrown those games if they listen to the fans and fix everything criticized.

The funny thing is since I've started playing this game, I've really had an urge to go back and play SM2. Lol.

I would just be ecstatic if Rockstar made a Spidey game. They know how to make fantastic open world sandbox games.
