I'm not sure if you've played all the way yet but
Yeah, Smythe goes insane pretty much and sends a ton of Spider Slayers after Spidey later in the game. One of the chapters is even called 'The Spider Slayer'. The stuff with Smythe around there was some of my favorite stuff.

cool!! I just started. But when I saw the name Smythe, I instantly knew there would be trouble.......lol

I'm gonna consider it canon unless the movies retcon it, because they don't have to be talking about everything spidey did in every movie.

But in this game Smythe has a position at Oscorp. There is a cross species outbreak in the city infection citizens. Giant Spider Slyer robots are introduced and as well as villians like Scorpion. If this game was canon the future movies would HAVE to mention these events at some point. Take it as it is an alernate epilogue to the movie that is not canon.
 
I'll take it as I want to. I appreciate the way you take it, but I like my way better. Can we stop talking about it?
 
Looking for a little help here, hopefully you of you guys can tell me where to look. I'm missing two bios, the one between regular spidey and cross species spidey, and the one between the thugs and the s-01. Can anybody tell me who I'm missing?

Also, where can I take a photo of one of those pesky little seeker bots?
 
Question spidey video game fans, I recently saw a full cg advert for the game showing before the movie in the cinema. I haven't been able to find the advert anywhere online or the song (which i really want) so if anyone has information pertaining to either one...would be appreciated.

can you restore the suit back to normal?

Anyone else not get the Stan Lee code from Amazon, I didn't see it in any emails about the order or in the package with the game (which arrived yesterday), though I signed up for the free super saver shipping which may have affected it if they sent out all the PS3 copies with codes first.

Either way, looking forward to popping the game in and playing it today.
 
Some of you might remember that I kept asking for the spider tracers upgrade. Well I delete d my install data, which also deleted my saves (RAGE). And started a new playthrough, and I actually got the upgrade! You get it after chapter 8, it isnt a chang mission :D
 
After seeing the movie 3 times, I'm seriously considering buying this game.

I picked up the game yesterday. I haven't played it much yet but I will say, though it is really good, the tone is completely different than the film!

It feels more like a game of the comics with a couple of minor movie ideas thrown in.

This might not effect your purchase at all, I just wanted to warn you as when I started playing last night I was mildly (only mildly though) disappointed. Mostly because I LOVED the film so much!

It is still fun though!
 
Got a code for the Vigilante costume last night from the Hardees website. This costume kicks so much ass.
 
it is possible for the game to be referenced in some way and its possible for the game to be canon..the prequel comic to the film which is considered canon references the game by foreshadowing Alistair Smythe.

and it's not too far fetched. Tron Evolution is canon with TRON and TRON LEGACY
 
I so loved Alistair Smythe in this game, awesome main villain!
 
Someone has real good ideas for a new Spider-Man game

My thoughts
  • Changing into Spider-Man anytime is a pretty old idea, we still wait to see it happen
  • Breaking limbs isn't friendly, but with Spidey's strength it's very hard not to break any
  • Changes other than damage to the costume, a good idea, but will he use health ointments? Like Resident Evil games?
  • Laundry for fixing the suit? Beenox got it better by going to an apartment
  • I like the origin story in a game, but that would be really really long, JRPG long
  • Money, some fans were looking for this since the SM vs Kingpin Sega game, an idea I like
  • Thumbs up for scare factor, I like getting the henchmen terrified
  • Variety mentioned here is a must
  • I want the people thing, not so badly, but I also want birds, like in AC games
  • Poor people in the alleys, excellent idea
  • Yes for more combat moves, same as countering more than one enemy at a time
  • Indoors, I'm invested in the idea, hope for it
