That is one move. There are many others.

Then of course there is the giant web hammer, and that "ripping the ground to bash enemies with it" is just silly. I don't know if he does it in the comics, but I do know that if does, it's definitely not one of his main attacks, not even near that. And think of what we could've gotten instead? Somethin actually good, that's what

the webbing controls in Spider-man 2 were definitely the most spot on, I wanna see that but ofcourse expanded. The should focus on the aspects that make Spidey Spidey, like webbing, agility, spidersense, and wall crawling, not just power & strenght

^Looks like they are heading towards that direction, based on the NYCC's trailer.

And I'm glad that they are. But I wont be satisfied until I see the combat, which I guess I will see soon with the new trailer

Agreed,Dee said on Twitter that combat got a complete redesign just like every other of Spidey's ability,so we should definately expect something different this time.

It's a gigantic plus that they're using SM2:TVG as a blueprint/starting point to build on for this game.

Indeed! This could be the best Spidey game ever, maybe the Spider-man game that we have been waiting for since batman fans got their arkham games. Not saying that this game should be like arkham asylum/arkham city, but it should capture the feeling of being Spider-man like arkham games captured the feeling of being Bat-man

There's hope! There are all the ingredients for a great game:
-2 years of development by the time the game will come out
-Beenox cares about the character(and fans)
-New tech + the character got completely redesigned in web swinging, combat etc.
-Immersive 3rd person camera
-FREE-ROAM
-Probably a strong story
-Cinematic feel

lol,I get excited reading this sruff XD

If those things wont make a great game, I don't know what will :D

Well they need to be all flawlessly implemented, otherwise it could turn out into a mess, but I have faith in Beenox. :)

I understand that the combat in EoT and SD is not traditional Spidey combat...but I like it. It's a different take on how he could potentially use his webbing as a weapon for attacks. Traditional Spidey manuevers has been done over and over again and if I wanted that type of experience I can simply put in SM2, SM3 or Ultimate Spiderman and play one of those, heck even WoS is somewhat traditional combat.

But that's why I like it. Cause it's creative and different. You don't like? Fine. I happen to see that Beenox took some creative liberties with the combat style and it looks friggin cool, plays awesome and is very enjoyable.

That being said...I'm looking forward to what they have to offer in the next game. I'm sure it will be more traditional based combat and it will probably be awesome.

God of War combat is one thing, Spidey using his webs to create huge fists, clubs and whatever is another.

thats ur complaint about the combat? the visual aspects of it? lol

spidey can do that type of stuff with his webs in the comics...i don't see whay its a bad thing that he can do that in a game...

I have a good vibe about this game. I'm sure it won't disappoint

Anybody know when we will get the new trailer? I'm really thinking it might be during the VGAs. It's really good they're building from the mechanics of Spider-man 2. Have high hopes for this game.

S-M2 is the best Spidey game so far, so as soon as i heard they were taking inspiration from it, my hopes grew a lot!

Can we drop the "I hate WOS/EOT's combat" thing & instead talk about how we want THIS game's combat to be like. Seriously, this thread gets on one tangent for a long ass time, it's annoying.

& I definitely agree that Spidey 2 is the best Spider-Man game. So much fun!

That's what happens when there isn't anything new going on. People are gonna talk about lots of stuff and go on tangents...can't avoid it. You can only talk about the unforseen for so long before it turns to other things. But hey, what's the harm? No one is personally attacking anyone else and there certainly isn't any hate going on...it's just Spidey fan banter :yay:

Once we get another glimpse of the new game we'll have plenty more to discuss. I actually prefer SM3 to SM2. Only the webslinging in my opinion is better in SM2.

I wonder if it'll also have the side missions that get harder with each one. Like the Mary Jane date missions, pizza deliveries, and the Daily Bugle assigments?

Those MJ missions sucked. I hated those so much...in both SM2 and SM3. I'm all for side missions and I'm sure there will be some but I hope they are better quality.

I actually liked those. The last few were really hard, but I like hard games. I don't know how I managed to beat them.
